The Minnesota Timberwolves are preparing for Game 2 on Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs.

This after they found a way to claim a road victory in Game 1, after superstar Anthony Edwards shocked the world by returning from a bone bruise in his knee a full week earlier than most projected he’d be able to.

On Wednesday, Ant is indeed expected to be available again, though he is currently listed as “Questionable”. And guess what? The Wolves feel even better about another key injury on the roster.

Minnesota Timberwolves get Ayo Dosunmu back

According to the team’s latest status report, trade deadline acquisition Ayo Dosunmu is now listed as “Available” for Game 2, after sitting out Game 6 vs the Nuggets and Game 1 vs the Spurs with a calf sprain.

Prior to his injury, Ayo Dosunmu was one of the best players on the Minnesota Timberwolves’ postseason roster. In fact, he currently leads the team in playoff points per game, at 21.8, a number that’s heavily boosted by his 43 point performance in Game 4 vs Denver.

Dosunmu, 26, is a big boost to what Minnesota does on both ends of the floor. He can blanket just about any guard or wing player and he is one of the few guys head coach Chris Finch can turn to when the Wolves need to play faster.

The timing is perfect too. If the Timberwolves can win tonight, they will take a 2-0 series lead back to the Twin Cities, where they’ll have an opportunity to close this thing out in FOUR games, after entering as massive underdogs.
