Up 3-2 in the series, the Minnesota Timberwolves will get a second opportunity to knock the Denver Nuggets out of the NBA Playoffs on Thursday night, after failing to finish the job earlier this week, in Game 5.

The Wolves still will not have Anthony Edwards — who’s out for at least two weeks with a hyperextended knee and bone bruise. They won’t have Donte DiVincenzo, either. He’s out for the rest of the postseason with a torn achilles.

Good/Bad News on ever-evolving MN Timberwolves injury report

Thankfully, they are back at home Thursday, for the final game at Target Center in this series. Unfortunately, the good news is a bit hard to come by, from there, especially given the news earlier today that the Wolves will enter Game 6 with some new health concerns.

Ayo Dosunmu — who has carried a large portion of the offensive workload after Anthony Edwards went down — is dealing with a calf injury that made him a late addition to the injury report today as “Questionable”, after he tweaked it at practice.

Bones Hyland started the day all alone in the “Questionable” category of today’s status report. Then, he was joined by Dosunmu, before eventually being elevated to “Available,” leaving Ayo as the lone Wolf whose status remains up in the air for Game 6.

Ayo Dosunmu ruled “OUT” for Timberwolves vs Nuggets (Gm. 6)

Then, about 1.5 hours before game time, Ayo Dosunmu was officially ruled “OUT” for Thursday’s playoff game — as first reported by Shams (ESPN) — brutal blow to a MN Timberwolves team already devastated by injury.

While Dosunmu’s injury isn’t new, it sounds like his pain did flare up today during the MN Timberwolves morning shootaround. Given how much Ayo currently means to the Wolves, with Ant and DiVo out, losing him is yet another ugly twist to the Minnesota Sports Curse.

Immediately when Ant left the lineup, Dosunmu — a 26-year-old Chicago native and University of Illinois alum — jumped to the top of the Wolves’ scoring list.

Heading into Game 6, Ayo leads the Timberwolves with 21.8 points per game, to go along with his 2.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and .545 shooting percentage from deep (32.4 MPG).
