MN Timberwolves Superstar Upgraded; Could Play Game 1 vs Spurs

The Minnesota Timberwolves will play the first game of their second round playoff series against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. And as recently as Sunday afternoon, we thought there was no chance Anthony Edwards would be active for that game.
We all watched Ant hyperextend his knee in Game 4 against the Denver Nuggets, and we all saw/heard the reports that he’d be out for at least the first couple games against the Spurs, as well.
But Antman is a superhero for a reason and his Wolverine healing powers seem to be working wonders yet again. On Saturday, Anthony Edwards was seen getting shots up after Minnesota Timberwolves practice.

Then on Sunday morning, Ant’s team released a 10-minute video documenting his injury and recovery process so far. But by Sunday evening, the Wolves actually upgraded Edwards to “Questionable” for Game 1 and cleared him for on-court basketball activities.
As Jon Krawczynski (The Athletic) notes, Edwards is NOT listed as Doubtful. His new status is “Questionable,” meaning “he has all intentions of playing” Monday against the Spurs.

Edwards is not doubtful. He’s questionable. That tells you he has every intention of playing. Tomorrow at shootaround likely will be a big test

Remember, this is a different knee than the one that was causing him problems during the end of the regular season and through the first rew games of round one.
This hyperextension and bone bruise was supposed to need a minimum of two weeks to recover, possibly more. I still think it would be surprising, if Anthony Edwards is active Monday night for Game 1… but I’m not putting any limitations on our guy.
What are the Spurs thinking right now…?
You can’t help but wonder how the San Antonio Spurs are feeling about this news. They have spent the last few days preparing for an Ant-less MN Timberwolves team. And now, they will wake up in the morning worrying about No. 5 in the starting lineup.
Anthony Edwards averaged 28.8 points, 5 rebounds and 3.7 assists during the regular season. His production took a step back against the Nuggets, where he averaged just over 20 points per game, before his injury.
