The Minnesota Twins have done it. We followed it from start to finish. We prayed, we hoped and we cried. But on Tuesday morning, it looks like Derek Falvey, Thad Levine and Twins Territory is likely to have the last laugh.

Twins Sign Carlos Correa

According to Jeff Passan (ESPN), the Twins have signed Carlos Correa to a 6-year, $200 million contract. That’s four less years and $85 million less than what they originally offered but has the potential to reach $270 million, depending on how (and how often) he plays.

The deal is pending a new physical, which has already killed two massive contracts between Correa, the Giants and the Mets. So this signing isn’t to the finish line yet. But you’d think the Twins organization would know more about Correa’s ankle than any other team in the MLB.

Wow…
