Will Kirk Cousins give the Minnesota Vikings a discount rate on his next contract?
On Monday, Kirk Cousins was asked whether or not he would accept a hometown discount if the Minnesota Vikings can’t give him the type of money other teams can this offseason.
“That’s a great question and one I’ve thought about pretty much my whole 12 years,” Cousins said. “I do think it’s important to be aware of. I think that God has blessed me financially beyond my wildest dreams. So at this stage in my career, the dollars are really not what it’s about.”

Teammates want Kirk back in Purple
As players continued to clean out lockers, teammates were asked about Kirk’s future as well. As you can expect, they had nothing but good things to say.
Everyone on the team wants Cousins back in purple. Justin Jefferson has emphasized many times how much his QB1 means to him. Brian O’Neill expressed pretty much the same thing today.
Brian O’Neill on whether he wants Kirk Cousins back: “Absolutely. Absolutely. One thousand million percent. I’d tell anybody that. 10,000 percent. I’d rather have nobody else than Kirk under center for us.” pic.twitter.com/4QbrhE87Kc

The ball is in the Vikings court
General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has some huge decisions to make this offseason, with extending Kirk Cousins being the number one priority. Will Kirk actually take a hometown discount to stay in purple?
I guess we’ll find out, but that would be the most ideal situation for the Vikings, before they back up the Brinks truck for Justin Jefferson.
