Magic Johnson is Still Mad at Anthony Edwards
When you come at a legend you best not miss. Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards still is annoying Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson. The talented playmaker made comments about the game today weeks ago, but the Hall of Famer still isn’t having it.

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has Magic Johnson stewing
Back in August Anthony Edwards suggested that the NBA is a different animal today. The Minnesota Timberwolves star said that Michael Jordan was a dude, but he was out on an island. That didn’t sit well with Lakers legend Magic Johnson, and he still isn’t over it. Johnson was on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and talked about the comments again.
“Thanks a lot, Anthony. I think he should’ve asked somebody, maybe his father or his grandfather about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dr. J., Isiah Thomas, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Clyde Drexler, all these guys, Dominique Wilkins. We had some of the most dominant players that’s ever played. … Also, too, you might want to talk trash when you’ve won something. You know, if this came from some of the guys who just won on the Celtic team, OK, you might want to look at it. But you haven’t won anything. If I’m Anthony Edwards, I’m concerned about the Dallas Mavericks, about OKC, about Boston, about all these great teams. … Concentrate, because you got beat by the Mavericks. You didn’t make it to the championship. So I’m concentrating on that instead of what happened in a time you wasn’t born.”

Kimmel followed up with the hilarious suggestion that Johnson should buy the Minnesota Timberwolves just to scare everybody. There is a level of hilarity in that due to the fact that Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore have been attempting to do just that for years. Their group has not yet succeeded, and the ownership transition doesn’t look any closer to resolution.

Magic Johnson is not wrong in suggesting that Edwards’ comments were quite a bit off base. Regardless, the Timberwolves superstar should be considered plenty locked in for the season ahead.
Anthony Edwards can help the Timberwolves take the next step
Last season the Minnesota Timberwolves pursuit for a championship fell a round short. They were ousted by the Dallas Mavericks during a relatively uncompetitive Western Conference Finals. Anthony Edwards is looking to take his team to that level again this season, and the hope would be to advance further.
Anthony Edwards can fight the comparisons all he wants, but this might be the most Michael Jordan like answer ever to how he fits in with Team USA’s Olympic roster.

It is possible that Chris Finch sees his team pick up a few less wins during the regular season. That shouldn’t be expected to cause fear though. The Timberwolves are still among the best teams in the NBA, and they are more than capable of making noise in the playoffs.

Edwards can bring what he learned playing on Team USA back to the NBA regular season. If his time with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry translates to wins for Minnesota, everyone should watch out.
