A Minnesota Timberwolves + Mike Conley contract extension is nearly complete, according to multiple reports around the NBA. The extension is for two years, $20,750,000 million ($10,375,000 million per season), meaning Mike is sticking around through 2025-26, when he will be 39 years old.

It was reported a couple of weeks ago that the Wolves were moving in on a possible extension with Conley and that he was very interested in the possibility. Crazy how quickly things can get done when both sides are motivated.
Minnesota Timberwolves needed more Mike Conley
According to Jon Krawczynski (The Athletic), it was head coach Chris Finch who started lobbying Timberwolves ownership for a Conley extension at the very beginning of this season. Money Mike is in the midst of a career-year, even as he creeps into his late-30s.
- Mike Conley Stats ( 2023-24): 44% FG | 44% 3PT | 10.6 PTS | 6.4 AST | 2.9 RPG | .923 FT% | 15.5 PER | 5.8 WS
Conley’s 3PT% (44%) is right near his career high, his eFG% (.588) is a career high. But where Conley has thrived in Minnesota is with his role as the Wolves’ on-court pacesetter and distributor, but even more importantly, as a big brother figure for blossoming young stars Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels and Karl-Anthony Towns.

There’s no doubt, Conley is the perfect point guard to help transition Ant from young phenom to NBA Superstar. And given some of the things we saw at NBA All-Star weekend, it’s pretty clear Ant still needs some guard rails up to help him navigate these pup years.
