Anthony Edwards is a (Movie) Star
Dan Patrick told us about Anthony Edwards’ acting abilities months ago. But now, you can watch him for yourself. Adam Sandler’s new basketball movie, “Hustle”, released on Netflix Wednesday. The film stars Juancho Hernangomez (yes, that Juancho Hernangomez), as an undiscovered international basketball talent that a down and out Sandler sees as his ticket back to the NBA.
But if you want to see why Dan Patrick, who makes his usual appearance in this Sandler film too, was wowed by Edwards’ acting skills while on set, just watch this short clip that features the Minnesota Timberwolves young superstar. It also gives us an idea of what Ant’s role is. The man tried to tell us that he’s was good at EVERYTHING. We should have listened.

I’m old enough to remember when people said that you couldn’t achieve national super stardom playing in a Minnesota market. Leave it to Anthony Edwards to prove that wrong. If you have the talent, the work ethic and the “it” factor Ant does, nothing is holding you back.
Great Expectations
Now, big time movies and spotlight will come with bigger expectations next season. No athlete wants their acting skills to be mentioned in the same sentence as their day job. Ask Baker Mayfield. That usually means they’re questioning your commitment to what got you here. For Anthony Edwards, that’s basketball.
The NBA world is already expecting a big step forward for Ant and the Minnesota Timberwolves next season. Between their big fish PoBO search that stole Tim Connelly from the Nuggets, the team’s cockiness on the court last season, Patrick Beverley’s recent appearances on ESPN and Edwards’ movie star hype, the Wolves aren’t flying under any radars in 2022-23. The new PoBO agrees.
