Gophers Add Three More Transfer Commits to Cap Active First Week in Portal
PJ Fleck and the Gopher football staff have been actively engaging with the transfer portal since it opened on December 4th. The Gophers recently secured commitments from Max Brosmer, a quarterback from New Hampshire, and FIU defensive tackle, Jordan Guerad.

Ethan Robinson, a transfer from Bucknell, committed after visiting Dinkytown this weekend. Robinson had offers from various schools, including Auburn and USC.

Robinson caught the eye of Power 5 programs with a fantastic 2023 season, earning a spot on the All-Patriot League first team. He is listed at 6’0″, 175 LBS and the Gophers hope he can play a key role alongside returning veteran, Justin Walley.

(RB) Trent Howland | Indiana
Trent Howland, who led the Indiana Hoosiers in rushing last season, will come to Minnesota with two years of eligibility left. He’s from Joliet, IL and graduated from Joliet West in 2021. Howland was a three star recruit out of high school, and he was recruited by Fleck and Minnesota, before eventually committing to Indiana.
Trent’s sophomore season was his best with the Hoosiers. He carried the ball 75 times for 354 yards and 2 touchdowns. He’s beefy, listed at 6-3, 240 lbs, and owned short yardage opportunities for Indiana last season. The Gophers hope he can be the two-punch behind Darius Taylor’s one and will absolutely boost running back room that still looks thin.

Who is OLB Eddy Toussom?
The Gophers capped off Sunday with a commitment from Eddy Toussom, an athletic outside linebacker out of Navarro College (JUCO) in Texas. He should give Minnesota an instant shot of talent and depth at the position next season.

Originally from Waller, TX, Toussom led Navarro in both sacks (8) and tackles for loss (15), to go along with an impressive 55 tackles for an outside pass rush-first linebacker but his 2023 highlights show he can do so much more than that. The 6-5, 240 LB beast will also have two years of eligibility remaining.
