After just a couple of days in the portal, Jordan Guerad announced at total of five power-5 offers on Twitter from UMass, Louisville, Kansas State, South Carolina and Minnesota. That’s a rather impressive list, given there are thousands of D1 football players in the transfer portal right now. Sometimes, when you know… you just know.

Who is defensive tackle, Jordan Guerad?

Guerad is from Valrico, FL and graduated from Bloomingdale high school in 2021, where he developed into a low 3-star defensive line recruit (247Sports).

He has two years of eligibility remaining, after playing in four games and redshirting as a freshman. Jordan, a 2023 All-Conference USA selection, recorded 26 tackles in 2023 and 48 total in his 2+ seasons at FIU (PFF).

A week before he announced his plans to enter the portal, Guerad posted one highlight on his Twitter feed. It was the only clip he’s posted since the FIU season ended and, really, it’s all I need to see.

The 6-3, 300 lb Gopher commit totaled 5 sacks in over 1,300 snaps as a Panther who has pretty impressive pressure numbers for a interior defensive lineman. Guerad’s PFF grades reflect as much too.

In 2023, Guerad earned an 83.2 defense grade, which is ranked as the 23rd best of 899 graded interior defenders in all of D1 college football, and good for 17th best among interior FBS defenders. His pass rush grade was 76.5, his run stop grade matched his overall 83.2.
