UPDATED REPORT: Vikings/Cousins 3-Year Fully Guaranteed Deal in Place

UPDATED: TUESDAY, MARCH 13 ( 12:20 PM)
Besides the “signed and sealed” aspect, this Cousins to Minnesota deal is essentially delivered:
Kirk Cousins plans to sign a three-year, fully-guaranteed contract from the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, sources tell ESPN.

#Vikings have a verbal commitment from Cousins and is is a full guarantee:https://t.co/NN9GDZVLGt

Outside of the above two insiders, numerous other media professionals are reporting the same information.
Welcome to the Kirk Cousins era, Skol Nation! It’s an era that will last a minimum of three years. If you’re still hesitant that this whole thing might not happen, here is your icing on the cake:
@KirkCousins8 Happy to have you here. See you April 16, FYI… Rhodes ? will still be close in practice. #RhodesClosed ?

The three-year ($86 million) deal is reported to be fully-guaranteed. As you can tell by Seattle WR, Doug Baldwin’s reaction, that part is a game-changer:
Kirk Cousins is a hero for all the young players that will follow after him. Now we need more players to bet on themselves until fully guaranteed contracts are the norm and not the exception.
— Doug Baldwin Jr (@DougBaldwinJr) March 13, 2018
While the players are sure to appreciate the Vikings approach on Cousins’ soon to be official contract, the same isn’t true for opposing NFL owners. The Wilf family will know why they’re getting the stink eye at their next invite-only league function. This could change everything for contract negotiations going forward. With that being said, if you’re a fan of this signing, who gives a shit?
Kirk Cousins was arguably the best healthy QB in his prime to ever hit the open free agency market. Lots of things to like about with him and the Vikings.

As someone who was very openly “Team Teddy Bridgewater” throughout this entire process, now that this is as good as done, let’s dance Kirk. Naturally, when it comes to the Purple, it’s a ride or die mindset. As for my earlier 2 Gloves stance, I just really loved the financial flexibility it gave the Vikings. The people who thought I had some soft spot for Teddy couldn’t have been more wrong. You want to talk about soft spots? Here is a Tweet from the day after Thanksgiving:
In a moment of weakness, i relapsed on Kirk Cousins last night. I apologize for my actions. I hope to be better next time.

It looks like I’m going on a good ole fashion bender.
