MN Wild Made Huge Offer for Brady Tkachuk

Team president of hockey operations Bill Guerin is trying to find another superstar talent to help push Kirill Kaprizov, Quinn Hughes, Matt Boldy and the Minnesota Wild over the top in of a loaded Western Conference.
This, after it became clear during the second round of the 2026 NHL Playoffs that Minnesota lacks both the high-end talent and depth necessary to make a real Stanley Cup run.
Early this offseason, they’ve been repeatedly connected to Detroit captain Dylan Larkin, who demanded a trade in rather historic fashion almost immediately after the Red Wings’ 2025-26 season ended in disappointing fashion.
But apparently, Larkin isn’t the only key piece of Team USA’s Gold Medal winning roster that had Minnesota on a short list of preferred trade destinations this offseason.
Minnesota Wild swing and miss on Brady Tkachuk trade
According to Michael Russo (The Athletic), the Wild were also on Brady Tkachuk’s list too, when he quietly requested a trade of his own out of Ottawa.
Unfortunately, while Guerin “made a huge offer” for Tkachuk, it wasn’t enough to keep him from landing in Florida with his brother Matthew. On Sunday night, Brady is on the verge of becoming a member of the Panthers.

Can confirm #mnwild were on Brady Tkachuk’s list submitted to Ottawa a few weeks ago. Wild made a huge offer, so I think at end of day Brady made decision to go to Florida. https://t.co/2JB6ZXaX7a

Brady Tkachuk is the ultimate two-way forward, scoring more than 50 points in each of his past five seasons in Ottawa, along with over 160 hits and a propensity for dropping gloves.
From 2019-2025, he managed over 200 hits, only limited to 162 last season due to only playing 60 games.
Both he and his brother Matthew played major roles for the Gold Medal winning Team USA that Bill Guerin built for the 2026 Winter Olympics
