For this article’s sake, I’ll be referring to the Kyle Rudolph inspired celebration below as “Duck, Duck, Grey Duck.” The reasoning behind the move is simple: This is Minnesota Sports Fan. In these parts, besides never drinking soda (whatever that is), there is no mention of geese in the classic children’s game.

That, right there, was gold medal quality. Some Michael Phelps type shit.

ESPN polled 151 NFL players in regards to their favorite celebration this season. 35 of those athletes had Minnesota’s Week 5 end-zone party as their top choice. The first place votes (35) for Duck, Duck, Gray Duck almost doubled that of runner-up, Pittsburgh (19). Their second place finish resulted from this mock game of Hide-n-Seek:

Everyone has heard the ongoing joke that the “N.F.L.” stands for the “No Fun League.” The humorous adage has only gained steamed over the past couple of years. Shout-out to Roger Goodell.

Fans have been more than vocal expressing their opinion on the commissioner. The guys in suits seem to be doing what they can to combat the negative vibe. This is evident by the fact in May of 2017 they made significant changes to how players can bask in their on-field accomplishments:

The vast majority of spectators, along with players, seem to be in favor of this tweak. For a league who’s ratings are dropping faster than a rude Uber driver, every little bit helps.

Mike Zimmer is okay with his players enjoying themselves more than previous years, so I am too. Well, technically, I adore every second of the extracurriculars. Sadly, one person who doesn’t, is Bill Belichick:

If you disagree with Coach Belichick, we posted an article a couple of weeks ago rankings the Purple’s best celebrations this season. Naturally, Duck, Duck, Gray Duck topped our list. To see what else made the cut, click here: Vikings Top Celebrations of the Season.

The ESPN Player’s poll only listed the top four vote getters:

Third Place (18 Votes) – Chiefs Potato Sack Race

Fourth Place (14 Votes) – Eagles Electric Slide

Only the top 4? What the hell? There isn’t even an honorable mention or participation trophy. Wow. I thought it was 2017.

Sorry. It’s just my Millennial self isn’t used to people being left out like this.
