The Minnesota Vikings are gearing up for their matchup against the New York Jets in London this week, but they received some notable news regarding their starting quarterback, Sam Darnold. As September has come to a close, Darnold has been named Player of the Month.

They’re calling it “SAMtember” after Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold earned the NFC Offensive Player of the Month honors.

Darnold was the top performer in the NFC during September, leading the Vikings to a perfect 4-0 start to the season.

Sam Darnold wrapped up an impressive September with a flawless 4-0 record. He led the league with 11 passing touchdowns and racked up 932 passing yards, capping off one of the most remarkable months in the franchise’s history.

Sam Darnold managed to edge out players like Saquon Barkley, Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, and Jordan Mason, all of whom had standout months for their respective teams.

After a rocky start to his career with other teams, Darnold found himself stepping up for the Vikings following a season-ending injury to rookie QB JJ McCarthy in the preseason. Despite the pressure, Darnold has risen to the occasion, surpassing all expectations.
