Details on Jordan Addison’s DUI Charges Finally Emerge
Jordan Addison was arrested and charged for Driving Under the Influence in July, when he was found asleep at the wheel of his Rolls Royce, near LAX in Los Angeles.
Because he wasn’t booked into the LA County jail, due to a “cite and release” policy available to law enforcement officers in California, Addison’s arrest details were shrouded in unknowns for the last few weeks. Many questioned whether or not his arrest was alcohol-related at all, thinking it could have been marijuana related.

A couple of weeks ago, however, it became pretty clear that Jordan’s arrest did indeed stem from drinking and driving. That, after I spent most of an entire work day calling around and speaking with different LA law enforcement officials familiar with Jordan Addison’s arrest.
So it was no surprise Tuesday, when Ben Goessling (Star Tribune) reported on the charges facing the Minnesota Vikings 2nd-year wide receiver.
Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was recently charged with two misdemeanors in Los Angeles County after his July 12 arrest near Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of drunken driving.

Two charges stemming from a DUI arrest is very much the standard, in most states. It’s a legal thing that makes it more difficult for those charged to avoid eventual guilty pleas and verdicts. There’s nothing to that part of Ben’s report, other than knowing two charges is the standard procedure for DUI arrests.

If found guilty, we can expect Jordan Addison to see a three game suspension from the NFL. His future driving privileges will depend on state laws in CA and how those transfer to MN.
We know his BAC was above .08, but we do not know how much above, he was. That could also play into his future discipline, both by the law and by the NFL/Vikings.
