Justin Jefferson’s Message to Vikings Fans: “We Ain’t Done Yet, Just Wait.”
On Monday morning, before most had even finished their first cup of coffee, the Minnesota Vikings and Justin Jefferson agreed to a contract extension that left the NFL wide receiver market in shambles, coming in at a whopping 4-years, $140 million ($110 million guaranteed).
As previously rumored, the new deal makes Jefferson the highest paid non-quarterback in football and goes down as the biggest non-QB contract in league history. And in the wake of such a historic announcement, Jefferson suggested this is just the beginning for him and the Vikings: “This is the start of it, but we ain’t done yet. Just wait.”
Something that once was a dream is now my reality. There are so many people that I can sit here and thank but you all know who you are that helped me along the way. But we ain’t stopping here…. There’s more to be done… SKOL!!!!!!! pic.twitter.com/q2Q6YUPAWH

“Alright.
The time is finally come. The deal I’ve been waiting for since I was a little kid. Being doubted my whole career, not being highly recruited, not being the first receive off the draft board, this whole journey wasn’t easy for me.
First off, I want to thank the man above. Without God, this wouldn’t be possible at all. To be given a gift to play football at the highest level, it’s a blessing, it’s an honor. My mom and dad, thank you. This is a journey for all of us and y’all stood with us every step of the way.
To my brothers, Ricky and Jordan, y’all are everything. Y’all made me who I am today. This is a new step in our journey, a new step in life. I always dreamed of this moment. And to now share it with all of y’all, a dream that we all had, it’s a blessing.
Kevin O’Connell, Kwesi [Adofo-Mensah], the Wilfs, I appreciate y’all for giving me this opportunity. Ben, my agent, thank you for getting this deal done. Last, but not least, thank you to the fans. Y’all set the tone, y’all set the mood, y’all set the energy and I’m definitely excited to set that energy for five more years.
Thank you all of the ones that supported me throughout the whole way. This is the start of it, but we ain’t done yet. Just wait.
We out.”

How could there possibly be another tier for Justin Jefferson to reach? He has already been the best wide receiver in the NFL from pretty much the moment he stepped onto the field. Setting records as a rookie, and continuing to obliterate yardage records ever since, his production has already been nothing short of amazing.

As a new connection develops between Jefferson and J.J. McCarthy, the pair could blossom into the best young quarterback to wide receiver tandem across the entirety of the NFL.
Kevin O’Connell is tasked with getting his new rookie prospect up and running, but having Jefferson as a teammate won’t hurt the acceleration of the development either.
Minnesota Vikings were never letting Justin Jefferson go
Despite rumors and different reports swirling over the past handful of months, and especially around the NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings were never interested in moving Justin Jefferson. Understandably teams did their due diligence in checking on his availability, but the conversations always ended before they even got started.
There were multiple teams this off-season that inquired about trading for Justin Jefferson, per league sources. The Vikings let each one of them know, in no uncertain terms, that they had zero intention of trading Jefferson and the conversations ended right then and there. https://t.co/dpJ8qEbY4p

The new extension for Jefferson brings him into uncharted territory among wide receivers, and he has single-handedly sent shockwaves through the NFL with the agreement. Working on the new pact for more than a year, the Vikings and their superstar wideout were always going to reach the finish line.
It was always a matter of when, rather than if, and seeing a generational talent like this walk out of the building wasn’t something Minnesota was interested in toying with.
How production looks from here, and what Jefferson can accomplish alongside O’Connell and McCarthy, remains to be seen. Expecting anything but greatness though would be to overlook what has already been accomplished.
