The Minnesota Vikings injury report is out for Thursday, as they prepare for a week 9 Sunday Night Football matchup vs the Indianapolis Colts. Vikings injuries have been a consistent storyline throughout the season, and that hasn’t changed this week.

On the bright side of the injury story, TJ Hockenson and Dalton Risner are expected to be active. Left tackle Christian Darrisaw is out for the season. Cam Robinson was acquired just a couple of days ago, to replace him. He is expected to start immediately.

That means the offensive line could look a lot different, this week. That’ll be especially true if Risner usurps Ed Ingram at right guard, something that could very realistically happen, per reports.

Week 9 (Thursday) Minnesota Vikings injury report (vs Colts)

Unfortunately, when the Minnesota Vikings injury report dropped on Thursday, it revealed the bad news that fans had feared. Blake Cashman did not practice again, meaning he is very likely to sit out Sunday night’s primetime matchup vs the Colts.

The Minnesota Vikings defense has looked like a shell of itself, in recent weeks, since the former Gopher Blake Cashman exited the lineup with the turf toe injury he is still dealing with. Last week, there was optimism surrounding Blake’s return for week 9. Unfortunately, that optimism has not translated to this week.

Blake Cashman likely out another week

At this point, it seems much more likely that Cashman sits out his third week in a row. Can Brian Flores’ defense stop anyone without him to patrol the middle of the field? So far, it’s not something we have been able to count on.

Hopefully, the return of TJ Hockenson can reinvigorate Kevin O’Connell’s offense, which in turn would help take pressure off of a defense that is missing one of its leaders. Even with two less game played than many of his defensive teammates, Blake Cashman remains 5th on the Minnesota Vikings in tackles, with 40, and 3rd on the team in passes defended, with 5.

Both David Quessenberry, who replaced Darrisaw last week after he was injured, and Taki Taimani were listed as limited participants. Everyone else practiced in full, including Hockenson and Risner.
