Packers going to get the Minnesota Vikings Aaron Jones experience
Through just three weeks of the 2024 NFL regular season Aaron Jones has been an incredible acquisition for Minnesota. He put up a 100-yard game against the Houston Texans, and that’s something the Vikings last starter wasn’t able to accomplish. He has suggested his new organization is taking great care of him. After yet another win, he told Tom Pelissero that he’s having more fun than ever.
“This is probably some of the most fun I’ve had in my career.”

“I think just really focusing on ourselves, honing in on our game plan, and stacking the days every day. We know what’s coming. In our home, KO [Kevin O’Connell] does a great job of gameplanning, making sure every day that we’re attacking the day, not just coming in and going through the motions. Really taking advantage of the week… I’m having a blast. This is probably some of the most fun I’ve had in my career. Just a great group of guys in that locker room. A great group of coaches that make it fun to come in here and play. Great fans out here. They affected the game many times. I know you’ve seen it. Someone said it was close to 130 decibels in here, which is crazy, I’ve never seen that. Hand-in-hand-in-hand, everybody has a piece of it.”

Big games are not a new thing to Aaron Jones. The veteran running back has played in seven playoff games over the course of his career. This might be the first time where he was counted out in an old situation, and his team felt the same in his new spot. The Packers moved on due to his injury history, and no one gave the Vikings much of a chance.

Each week Jones and the Vikings have gone out and proved their doubters wrong. Sam Darnold has been the catalyst to that, but his teammates have helped to carry the load.

“The same as it has been for the last three weeks. One day at a time focus, don’t make it anything more than it is. It’s a game. When I’m back there, I have gratitude for where I come from and where it all started.”

Jones is certainly saying the right things, but there are definitely going to be differences for him next week. Green Bay made Jones a 5th round pick in 2017 and he played the first 97 games of his career there. He’ll be a visitor for the first time, and he’ll be looking to leave his mark.
Aaron Jones said now when he scores, instead of calling it the Lambeau Leap, it’ll be called the Bank Vault. “The bank is open on Sundays.”

This week against the Houston Texans, Jones played in his 100th career game. He saw Stefon Diggs and Danielle Hunter look to impact the outcome against their former team. His aspirations will be similar when facing a Green Bay team expected to have their starting quarterback return under center.
