Become an Elite QB 101: Beat Rodgers and Brady Back-to-Back on Playoff Run

It’s funny that I find myself feeling this way tonight, as I sit and think about the Vikings vs. Patriots game this Sunday afternoon in Foxborough. It feels awfully similar to how I felt last week, as we readied US Banks Stadium for the return of Aaron Rodgers and the disgustingly colored Green Bay Packers.

 – Sidebar: Only someone in Wisconsin would create a football team and decide that the colors should be puke/shit green outlined in a bright yellow to really make that toilet stain pop.

It’s another Kirk Cousins “prove it” game.

Last week an elite QB came to our place and Kirk Cousins shined, throwing for over 300 yards, 3 TD’s and 0 INT’s, but now we will travel to face off against the greatest QB of all-time. My feelings of deja vu might have something to do with playing against two elite quarterbacks in back-to-back weeks but it’s not THE reason for my feelings.

NOPE.

THE reason why I feel like this game is on Kirk’s shoulders is because it’s another game where the season is on the fucking line. We cling to a Wildcard spot but stand only one loss away from taking all pressure off of Chicago for the division title. Not only that, but there are one of about 5 teams that are currently in a death-match for 2 wildcard playoff births.

While Kirk has shown the ability to take over and win us games with the team on his back, he is yet to show he can do it consistently. He’s thrown up more games with a QB Rating under 100 (6) than he’s put up over that benchmark (5).

But, this is one of those games where Cousins can turn the narrative. I actually made a graphic on this last week. Again, I am feeling a lot of deja vu tonight.

Life is about moments. Your professional football career is about moments. There are times during a season and into the postseason where heroes are born. Where legends are made.

Sunday is one of those moments for Kirk Cousins. You beat Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady in back-to-back weeks with big games of your own, while you are in the middle of a playoff stretch where wins are absolutely crucial… people look at QB’s who do that in a different light. They start to look at you like you walk on water a little bit.

Are you ready to be that guy, Kirk? Are you ready to see statues and streets named after you? Do you want to be loved forever like nobody for any city ever has?

Win a Super Bowl here, Kirk. You’ll see what being a king is all about.

But, it starts Sunday. It starts by beating Tom Brady and his cheating-ass head coach. You wanna be the best? You beat the best.

Don’t be afraid to be a legend, Kirk. Listen to your friend PJ.
