Well it didn’t take an absurd amount of time, according to Jim Souhan, it was done the “right way”, and it didn’t even require a search firm… but the Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly hired their new President of Basketball Operations, Gersson Rosas.

Rosas comes from 16 years with the Houston Rockets where he currently serves as their Executive Vice Presient of Basketball Operations. As I linked above, Souhan liked all 4 of the final contestants in “The Trade is Right”, (AKA: the Timberwolves PoBO search) where contestants were hopefully submitting trade plans for Andrew Wiggins as their final interview.

The new PoBO is highly thought of around the NBA and was always seen as a guy who would run his own team eventually. He was briefly a GM in 2013 when he took the job for the Dallas Mavericks, before resigning just 3 months later due to lack of control under Mark Cuban.

I can’t wait to read the state-run newspaper tomorrow on how great of a hire this is. I sure hope it is as great as it will be advertised because I’m sick of being pissed off at my favorite pro basketball team.. but we’ve been “saved” here by new leadership under Glen Taylor a few too many times for me to drive this bandwagon.

Trade Andrew Wiggins without ruining the franchise before KAT leaves and you’ll have my attention.
