Timberwolves May Have Gotten Voice Message Through to LeBron James

LeBron James is enjoying his latest swim in the NBA free agent pool, as he decides which team he will play for next. The Minnesota Timberwolves, from all reports, are one of five teams that remain in the mix, after the Denver Nuggets fell out of the running this week.
We know the Wolves’ pitch. LeBron is a perfect basketball fit in Minnesota. They desperately need a power forward and, not only is there not a better PF on the market, but you’ll still be hard-pressed to find one that is as good as James, even at 42 years old.
On paper, pairing LeBron James with Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball makes for one of the most potent offenses in basketball. Throw Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels into the defensive conversation, as Minnesota is instantly a Western Conference favorite.
MN Timberwolves have sent LeBron James a voice message
Unfortunately, at least for now, LeBron James is too busy with his golf game to meet with the Timberwolves, or any other potential free agent suitors. In general, he and agent Rich Paul have left interested teams completely in the dark.
However, each of the five teams remaining, according to Shams (ESPN) were able to send the 4x MVP and 21x All-NBA superstar a voice recording with their quick elevator pitch on why they are the best possible landing spot.

“All of the information so far has funneled through agent Rich Paul, with LeBron James. So they’ve been in the process of gathering information. One interesting wrinkle that has occurred in the last several days, some of the leading suitors for LeBron James — whether that is a Golden State, Cleveland, Miami, Minnesota, Philadelphia — some of them have been able to send a voice note to LeBron James via Rich Paul. So whether it’s an owner, a president or a general manager being able to record a voice note, I am told, send it to Rich Paul and that makes its way to LeBron James.

Shams didn’t note specifically which teams have been able to get voice messages through Rich Paul and to LeBron, in between his golf shots, but it seems more likely than not that they were. Who would have sent that message? Either Tim Connelly or Alex Rodriguez, most likely.
LeBron James playing golf with Draymond Green
From the looks of it, LeBron is playing golf this week in Puerto Rico with Draymond Green, who is technically a free agent as well. I don’t know how much golf Anthony Edwards plays, if any, but I do not doubt his confidence, if you put a club in his hands.
If that is what it takes to get LeBron to take a more serious look at the Minnesota Timberwolves, then it’s time to get him Edwards some Adidas golf attire so he can lure James to the Twin Cities area on a recruiting visit. If LeBron is going to come visit MN and enjoy the golf, now is the time.
