Lore, A-Rod Plan to Attend Timberwolves’ Final Regular Season Games
The Minnesota Timberwolves play the final two games of their regular season schedule this weekend, first against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, then vs the Phoenix Suns in their season finale, on Sunday. Both contests will be held at Target Center, in Minneapolis.
In case you haven’t heard, there is an ongoing ownership battle raging within the Wolves organization, as this team is trying to finish out one of the most successful seasons in its history. If this is news to you, read more here, here, here, here, here, here and here.
Marc Lore, Alex Rodriguez to attend Minnesota Timberwolves games this weekend
But, yet another interesting shoe dropped on Friday afternoon when news broke via longtime Timberwolves beat writer and insider, Jon Krawczynski (The Athletic). This, after they had been reportedly locked out of Target Center previously.
“It is all expected to be in public view on Friday night when Lore and Rodriguez are expected to attend the game against the Atlanta Hawks, team sources told The Athletic. It will be the first time they have been back in the arena since the dispute began on March 28.”

That’s not all, though. Local scoop artist Darren Wolfson (KSTP, SKOR North) adds that the minority ownership duo plans to attend both games this weekend.

Of course, A-Rod and Lore will not actually barricade themselves into an owners suite, a source did confirm with Minnesota Sports Fan. That part of the tweet was a joke. Don’t be surprised, however, if they do indeed end up courtside on Sunday.

Will this be a distraction for the team? Probably not… but it certainly will be for TV cameras who are sure to have all three of Lore, Rodriguez and Glen Taylor on screen nearly as often as they do basketball. But hey… all press is good press, right?
