College football is over after the Big Ten reeled in consecutive championships. The Minnesota Gophers turned the page to 2025 after their victory against Virginia Tech in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. They are also going to be well-represented in some of the all-star games.

The Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Bowl are arguably the two premier showings for players looking to compete at the next level. Now Minnesota has a new participant heading to Texas.

MN Gophers cornerback Ethan Robinson to Shrine Bowl

After spending three years at Bucknell, Ethan Robinson transferred to the Gophers hoping to make an impact at the Power 5 level. He turned a strong season into an opportunity for draft features with a spot in the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Robinson played in 13 games for the Gophers this season. The senior collected 29 tackles, including three for losses. He also picked off three passes while generating eight passes defensed. He both forced and recovered a fumble as well.

Despite the loss to Michigan, Robinson’s interception helped to keep the Gophers in the contest. A questionable onside kick ruling took away a shot for the offense to pull off a comeback..

Minnesota has multiple players representing the Gophers at the Shrine Bowl. Robinson joins teammate Tyler Cooper on the East roster. He will have the opportunity to play against the quarterback he has seen all year in practice as Max Brosmer is on the west roster.

The Shrine Bowl is set to take place on January 30, 2025 in Arlington, Texas. The game is played at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
