Twins Have New Home Run Celebration and it is Perfect

The Minnesota Twins are in the process of blowing out the Kansas City Royals and hopefully taking their four-game series, 3-1. Outside of their one loss (Saturday), the Twins dominated their division rival over the weekend.

Twins unveil very appropriate home run celebration

But the best thing to come out of Sunday’s win won’t be their 17-12 record, good for 1st place in the AL Central. Nope, it will be the Twins’ newly unveiled home run celebration. It happened after Byron Buxton hit a 3-run third-deck bomb in the third inning. When he arrived back at the dugout, he was greeted with a fisherman’s vest that read “Land of 10,000 Rakes” on the back.

Pablo Lopez stood at the far side of the dugout and rewarded Buxton with a Fisher Price fishing pole when he got through the high-five line. I do not know what HR celebrations other teams are doing this season but I have a hard time believing there is one more fitting for the state they play in than what the Twins unveiled today.

The Minnesota Twins get an off-day on Monday, before they open up a three game series in the south side of Chicago vs the disastrous (7-21) White Sox. Cleveland lost to Boston on Sunday so they should enter the new week with a 3.5 game lead in the AL Central.
