It’s that time of year for the NBA. With free agency opening on Tuesday, it’s decision weekend across the league for teams to make decisions on pending free agents and players to exercise options for 2025-26.

Malik Beasley being investigated for betting on NBA games/props

Like in Detroit, for example, where former Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley was reportedly in “serious contract talks” with the Detroit Pistons on a new deal worth 3 years, $42 million, per Shams Charania (ESPN). That was until Sunday afternoon, when news broke that will surely put a wrench in those discussions.

According to Shams, Beasley is being investigated by the U.S. District Attorney’s office on allegations that he was betting on NBA games and NBA props during the 2023-24 season, while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Related: Rudy Gobert Finally Says No to International Play

It’s important to remember that these investigations are centered around ALLEGATIONS only. Beasley has not even been charged with a crime yet, let alone been found guilty.

Nonetheless, allegations of a professional athlete gambling on their own sport is a big deal, and something that could very well affect the rest of Malik Beasley’s pro career. As of now, the investigation does not seem to include any of Beasley’s time in Minnesota, where he played parts of three seasons (2019-2022).

Beasley’s personal life still raising questions after leaving Minnesota Timberwolves

With the Timberwolves, Beasley averaged 15.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game (28.1 MPG). Prior to arriving in Minnesota, the now 28-year-old former 1st round pick averaged just 7.4 points on 16.4 minutes in 206 games with the Denver Nuggets.

Last year in Detroit, however, Beasley hit his NBA ceiling, averaging 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 82 games (18 starts). His super power since leaving has been the three-point shot, which he shot at a 42% clip last year with the Pistons.

This isn’t Malik Beasley’s first run in with trouble. While playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Beasley walked out of his well-off Twin Cities suburban house, pointing a rifle at a car parked on his curb that held a family who had gotten lost house-hunting in the area.

Not long after, investigations into the guns at the Beasley residence led to additional gun and seizures of 30 oz. worth of marijuana. Even worse, his wife ended up taking the fall for those drug charges, while he was out causing more drama. In the middle of all that, Hennepin County filed for protection of Malik Beasley’s son.

In the end, Beasley served a 12-game NBA suspension that season, before rejoining the Timberwolves. A couple years later, however, Connelly finally gave up on the guard he drafted out of Florida State years earlier, dealing him to the Utah Jazz as part of the massive Rudy Gobert blockbuster.

Apparently, Sportsbooks Have Not Learned Their Lesson on the Minnesota Vikings https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/sportsbooks-over-under-vikings-regular-season-wins-odds/ Thu, 15 May 2025 20:21:50 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=63194 This time last year, the Minnesota Vikings drafted their QB of the future J.J. McCarthy, with the intention of putting him on the field sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, a preseason meniscus tear put an end to that idea. , So, the Sam Darnold-led Minnesota Vikings shocked the football world and won fourteen games.

Fast forward back to the present. Sam Darnold is gone and the team is now squarely in McCarthy’s hands. Most importantly, Kevin O’Connell — who’s coming off his first Coach of the Year award — is still running the show and calling plays.

Still, that doesn’t really excite a lot of the sportsbooks. Even after underestimating the Minnesota Vikings just one season ago, just to be embarrassed, Vegas is yet again selling the purple’s chances in 2025.

Minnesota Vikings favored in just seven games

Last year, the Minnesota Vikings opened at a shockingly low over/under of just 6.5 regular season wins. As previously mentioned, the won more than double that. Now entering 2025 offseason workouts, we’re seeing more of the same. As of Tuesday, DraftKings Sportsbook has the Vikings as the favored team in just seven of their regular season games, and winners of just 8.5 games total.

SportsbookOver/UnderOdds
FanDuel8.5+100
DraftKings8.5-145
BetMGM8.5-155

There is an understandable amount of uncertainty when it comes to a new quarterback. That said, the Vikings went gangbusters in free agency and loaded up in the trenches on both sides of the ball. They also added a starting guard in Donovan Jackson with their first round pick.

The two-win jump is a modest one for a team that won substantially more than that a year ago. Of course there aren’t many more wins for an NFL to capture beyond 14, but there’s a possibility Minnesota is better despite winning a few less games.

Yes, they need another cornerback. Still though, they have enough talent to be a better collection than last year even if they don’t win as many games. There are still other question marks on this roster too. But after what we saw last season, I’m not sure how you can doubt the Minnesota Vikings entering 2025.

Latest Minnesota Wild Playoff Odds https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-wild/latest-2025-nhl-playoff-odds/ Wed, 26 Mar 2025 20:57:03 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=61874 With just 10 games remaining in the 2024-25 NHL regular season, the Minnesota Wild are trying to hang onto one of the final playoff spots in the west. As of Wednesday, they own a six-point cushion over the Calgary Flames, the first team out.

The Wild started the season on fire, going 18-4-4 through their first 26 games. Back then, they were sitting at the top of the NHL standings and life was good, even while injuries began to torment the roster. But then, Kirill Kaprizov suffered a lower body injury that has cost him all but three games since Christmas.

Over their last 46 games (since Jan. 7), the MN Wild have gone 22-23-1, losing Joel Eriksson Ek, Jonas Brodin, Jared Spurgeon, Marcus Johansson and Marcus Foligno (among others) for extended stretches throughout this below-.500 run. The latest injury updates have both Kaprizov and Eriksson Ek skating this week, in preparation for an eventual return before the start of the NHL Playoffs.

With 72 games in the books, the Minnesota Wild are holding onto the first wild card spot with 85 points. Right behind them, the St. Louis Blues sit at 83 points, claiming the second and final spot, for now. But the race is far from over, as the Flames, Canucks, and Utah Hockey Club are all within striking distance.

Western Conference Wild Card Standings

WC2Blues 38-28-783
OUTFlames 34-25-1179
OUTCanucks 33-26-1278
OUTHockey Club 32-28-1175

Five teams are vying for the final two wild card spots in the West. To the untrained eye, Wild fans should be nervous, especially given how much ground they’ve surrendured over the past week. Could this team really miss the playoffs for the second-straight season for the first time since 2011-12 and 2012-13?

Now, these standings can be deceiving, especially in the NHL. So, one must ask: is this something MN Wild should be concerned about? Well, who better to turn to than those who have the most money on the line… Vegas.

Current Minnesota Wild playoff odds

And when we do that, Wild fans may find themselves pleasantly surprised by their findings. Because according to all the major sportsbooks, there is pretty much no doubt that the Minnesota Wild are making the 2025 NHL Playoffs.

DraftKings has the MN Wild’s playoff odds currently listed at -1000, as does ESPN Bet. That means, if you want to place a bet on Minnesota making the playoffs, you’d have to bet $1000 just to win $100. FanDuel is so sure of the Wild as a playoff team that they have the odds set at -1600!

BetDraftKingsFanDuelESPN Bet
Wild make playoffs-1000-1600-1000

The Wild still hold a solid 6-point lead, which is a good cushion with just 10 games left. However, with teams like the Flames and Canucks closing in, they’ll need to find a way to grind out a few wins to finish the season strong and make the playoffs.

With Kaprizov and Eriksson Ek expected to start skating again this week, there’s a good chance they’ll be back in the lineup for the final games of the season, in April. That is likely playing into the current playoff odds. But really, what has oddsmakers so confident in the 2024-25 Minnesota Wild as a playoff team is the math of what it would take to make them miss.

Related: More Good News Minnesota Wild Injury Updates…?

For example, if the Calgary Flames went on to finish their season with a very respectable 6-3-1 record (13 points), the Wild would have to essentially fall off a cliff — to the tune of 3-6-1 — in order for the Flames catch them in the standings. That means, even given the injuries Minnesota is dealing with, missing the postseason would be a fall from grace that even the 2024 Twins would be embarrassed by.

Oddsmakers Still Not Sold on Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/minnesota-vikings-news/week-4-early-betting-odds-vs-packers/ Mon, 23 Sep 2024 13:43:10 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=55306 The Minnesota Vikings have kicked off their 2024-25 season with an impressive 3-0 start. They have surprised both NFL fans and the Vegas oddsmakers, who have underestimated them in every game so far. If you’re a Vikings fan who’s been betting on the purple, you’re feeling extra good about life this Monday.

Despite their impressive win against the Houston Texans on Sunday, after suffocating the Niners one week before, Vegas refuses to get fully on board the 2024 Vikings ship. The odds for week 4 are in. And the Minnesota Vikings find themselves as +2.5 point underdogs (as of Monday at 8:15 AM CDT) against the (2-1) Green Bay Packers.

Minnesota Vikings underdogs vs Packers (Week 4)

It’s key to remember that this week’s contest is at Lambeau Field, which is why the Packers are favored. But fine, let’s give Green Bay their 3 points, for being at home (that’s generally the accepted points boost for any NFL home team), and you still only get the Vikings as 0.5 point favorites, if the game were played on a neutral field.

Apparently these Vegas bookies dropped ‘Sunday Ticket’, when it switched providers, and haven’t been able to watch Minnesota Vikings games? Because, if you’ve been following the NFL over the first three weeks, it’s impossible to deny that the Vikings have been the better team.

Related: Minnesota Vikings Crowd Had Texans Offense in Shambles on Sunday

Vegas doesn’t seem to share that sentiment. Oddsmakers refuse to believe. So, those who have already been profiting on the Vikings’ good fortune, have another great opportunity to do the same thing. This will be the third-straight week Minnesota has opened as the underdog, despite covering their first three matchups by a total of 59 points.

The line is likely to fluctuate, as the week progresses. I’m no betting expert, but it might be smart to get your bets in for Week 4 as soon as you can. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Vikings are favored in this game, by kickoff on Sunday.

Of course, that largely depends on the health of Sam Darnold and Justin Jefferson. But on the other side, QB Jordan Love is a question mark for Green Bay, after he was forced to sit out on Sunday.

The Minnesota Vikings have been disrespected long before the season even started

The 2024 Minnesota Vikings were being underestimated by Vegas long before the season kicked off. Oddsmakers set their over/under win total for the season at just 6.5, easily last in the division. Now 3-0, if you bet on that under, you can probably go ahead and toss that ticket now.

The Vikings have been underdogs in two out of their first three games. In week 1, on the road vs the New York Giants, the Vikings were +1 point favorites. Instead, they dominated the matchup, 28-6.

Related: Cowherd is ALL THE WAY Bought in on the Minnesota Vikings

Then, in Week 2, they faced the defending runner-ups, the San Francisco 49ers, at US Bank Stadium. Despite being 4-point underdogs, the Vikings once again defied the odds with a 23-17 victory.

Even with a 2-0 start, Vegas still had the Vikings as 1.5-point underdogs going into Week 3 at home against the Houston Texans. But they defied expectations, winning 31-7 and surprising a lot of people.

The Minnesota Vikings aren’t worried about being underdogs, they just keep winning. With a 3-0 record for the first time since 2016, they’ve proven the doubters wrong. This week, they head to Lambeau Field once again as underdogs. It’ll be interesting to see if they can maintain their dominance and silence the oddsmakers.

Minnesota Timberwolves 2024-25 Over/Under Win Total is Set https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-timberwolves/minnesota-timberwolves-news/minnesota-timberwolves-over-under-win-total-2024-25/ Wed, 17 Jul 2024 18:45:29 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=52974 The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off of arguably their best season ever. In 2023-24, they won 56 games, the 2nd most in franchise history, and made it to the Western Conference finals, tied for their deepest ever playoff run.

In 2024-25, they return most of that same squad. The only regular rotation piece that moved on this offseason was Kyle Anderson. They replaced the 30-year-old defensive team leader with another wily veteran, 37-year-old Joe Ingles, who won’t provide the same defense, but should bring much better outside shooting to the offensive equation.

They also traded for the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, which they used to take 19-year-old Rob Dillingham (Kentucky). With the No. 27 pick, they drafted 24-year-old Terrence Shannon Jr. (Illinois), who has looked really good in Summer League.

Minnesota Timberwolves projected win total set

So, what has this offseason done for the Wolves’ chances at winning regular season basketball games in 2024-25? Well, sportsbooks aren’t necessarily sure that Minnesota is better than they were last year, but saying they are “worse” could be an overstatement.

Related: What in the GTA is Tattooed on Terrence Shannon Jr’s Forearm?

DraftKings has the Minnesota Timberwolves over/under win total set at 52.5, tying them for 3rd most in the NBA, but 3.5 less wins than what they reached in 2023-24. FanDuel also has them at 52.5, which puts them in a 3-way tie for 4th most.

T-676ers 51.5T-476ers 52.5
T-6Bucks 51.57Bucks 50.5

What can we take away from these early regular season win total odds? That Vegas expects a lot of the same from this Minnesota Timberwolves team. It is difficult to reach 56 wins, no matter how good your team is.

Yes, sportsbooks expect Anthony Edwards to take another step in his route to superstardom. No, they do not believe Kyle Anderson is worth 3+ wins. When setting over/under win totals, Vegas must account for possible injuries, along with the many ups and downs of an NBA regular season.

Related: This Just In: Anthony Edwards Dominates in Water Too

That randomness makes it more likely that Minnesota’s win total takes a step back, even if the team ends up getting better. Remember, this is just regular season win totals, and has nothing to do with their chances in the postseason.

Either Multiple Sportsbooks Messed Up or the Vikings’ NFC North Odds are… Impossibly Horrible https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/minnesota-vikings-news/minnesota-vikings-nfc-north-odds-july-2024/ Fri, 05 Jul 2024 17:45:03 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=52672 Most have the Minnesota Vikings on a rebuild year in 2024. What exactly that means is in the eye of the beholder. But most fans are holding out hope that Sam Darnold is a reincarnated version of the No. 3 overall pick he once was, or that he can keep at least keep the Vikings’ boat afloat until later in the season, when J.J. McCarthy can take the reigns.

Yes, Kirk Cousins was the best QB this team has seen since Brett Favre and he was here for six seasons. But do QB questions suddenly equate to having a bad team? Because if we look beyond quarterback, especially after the addition of (RB) Aaron Jones, the 2024 Minnesota Vikings offense is arguably better than it was one year ago.

Last season, the Vikings finished with a 7-10 record, but they were 7-6 before a five game losing streak to end the season killed their playoff chances. They were 4-4 when Kirk Cousins got hurt and remained a .500 team for most of the season while rotating Jaren Hall, Sean Mannion and Josh Dobbs at QB.

Defensively, there are questions surrounding whether or not the MN Vikings have as much talent as they did in 2023. Danielle Hunter left and that certainly hurts the talent pool, but Kwesi went and found three guys (Van Ginkel, Greenard and Turner) to replace him, and they were all hand-picked by defensive coordinator Brian Flores.

Minnesota Vikings fans… have you seen the NFC North odds lately?

Now, let’s talk about the rest of the division. Are we really supposed to believe that the Detroit Lions are suddenly a perennial NFC North champion; that Jordan Love is the next all-time great Green Bay Packers quarterback, or that Caleb Williams is going to slide into QB1 for the Chicago Bears and immediately take them back to the 80s? Because I am not sold on any of those things.

Related: Minnesota Vikings Front Office is on the Hot Seat?

That was until I looked at the current betting odds to win the NFC North. Now, I’m questioning everything about my own homerism and football knowledge. Hell, I’m wondering if I’m losing my marbles. Is it surprising to see the Minnesota Vikings with the worst odds of any team in the NFC North at both DraftKings and FanDuel? No. But +1000 when the Bears are +265? What in the fu…

NFC North OddsDraftKingsFanDuel
Lions+150+135
Packers+210+195
Bears+265+330
Vikings+1000+950

Has Caleb Williams developed superhuman powers that will immediately turn him into Patrick Mahomes, without ever taking a snap in the NFL? How can sportsbooks realistically look at the NFC North and think, ‘oh yeah, the Packers, Lions and Bears are at least 3-4x better than the Vikings’?

WTF are these NFC North odds telling us?

Even if you want to prematurely crown the Lions as the next great NFL dynasty or Jordan Love as the next Aaron Rodgers, I’m at a loss for why Vegas would be so confident in the Bears. Do they look a bit better on paper, this season? Maybe… if Caleb Williams can immediately prove himself to be a functional QB.

Jump on the Lions bandwagon if you dare but that franchise has sucked for my entire life, and long before. It will take more than a couple of playoff seasons to wipe that stain from my memory. Even if Jordan Love is hitting his stride, the Packers have a lot of holes on their team.

I am not convinced any of the above will happen. In fact, I wouldn’t feel all that confident betting on any team as the NFC North winner preseason. There’s no telling how this division will shake out in 2024.

Video: Adam Thielen Continues to Work Out with Vikings Rookie JJ McCarthy

I mean where are all the Kirk Cousins haters who have been telling us for years that the Vikings would be better off without Kirk? I never bought into that thinking, of course, but now without him, Vegas has us pegged as being four times worse than other unproven teams like the Packers and Bears. How?

To say that the Vikings, who with Jefferson, Addison, Jones, Darrisaw, O’Neill and Hockenson have arguably the best offense in the division, outside of QB. So either oddsmakers have no faith in Kevin O’Connell, who now has two talented young quarterbacks to mold, or they know something about the NFC North that we don’t.

Or… maybe both sportsbooks made a mistake…? I guess I’d almost believe that over the Vikings being extreme long shots like they are.

Minnesota Gophers #1 Team in Nation Against the Spread and Oddsmakers are Dumbfounded https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/gophers-basketball/oddsmakers-cannot-beat-minnesota-gophers-against-the-spread/ Sun, 25 Feb 2024 14:33:05 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=48157 Currently, Ben Johnson has his Minnesota Golden Gophers men’s basketball team performing at the highest level of his tenure, by far, holding a record of 17-9 overall and 8-7 in Big Ten play. As March approaches, the Gophers are gaining momentum methodically quieting their doubters.

But the oddsmakers in Vegas and across the internet are growing increasingly frustrated with Minnesota. Why? Because they can’t beat them. Ben’s squad is an absurd 23-3 against the spread this season, leaving Vegas scratching their heads.

Sure, the Gophers are still outside of the March Madness picture, looking in. But if there were an NCAA Tournament for teams against the betting spread, they’d be the number one overall seed and it wouldn’t be close.

Dominant: Minnesota Gophers against the spread

minnesota gophers pharrel payne
Matt Krohn-USA TODAY Sports

If you’re someone who frequently engages in sports betting, you’ve probably taken note of just how consistently successful the Gophers have been this season, in the betting world. The Gophers have been terrific in all situations, going:

  • 12-1 ATS as a favorite
  • 11-2 ATS as an underdog
  • 17-1 ATS at home
  • 6-1 ATS on the road

Let me clarify what that means by providing some context. When betting against the spread, your odds are usually pretty close to even. That’s what spreads are for. A spread gives points to the underdog before the game starts, in an effort to make it a fair fight.

That’s why you hear or see things like, ‘the Gophers are +6.5 point underdogs vs the Cornhuskers’. Those +6.5 hypothetical points are called the ‘spread’. And in fact, that is the current spread on tonight’s Minnesota vs Nebraska game. So, to beat Nebraska Sunday ‘against the spread’, Minnesota doesn’t have to win the actual game. They just need to be within 6.5 points when the final buzzer sounds.

Related: Cam Christie’s NIL Value is Reportedly Up to $10,000/mo; Pharrel Payne’s Rising Too

If you’re a gambler who caught onto this Gophers ATS train early, they’ve made you a lot of money this season. Veteran sports bettors are well aware of the ‘juice’ fees and other +/- numbers that go along with making the final number you are betting, when trying to cover a spread, but there is no need to confuse anyone with those.

As mentioned earlier, betting spreads are meant to make betting odds EVEN so let’s assume they are, in order to keep this exercise simple. If you had bet $100 on the Gophers against the spread for every game this season, you’d be about $2,000 richer.

  • Winning bets = 23 * ($100) = $2,300
  • Losing bets = 3 * ($100) = $300
  • Net profit = $2,000

Oddsmakers stunned by Gophers 23-3 record ATS

And, unsurprisingly, oddsmakers are growing increasingly frustrated with how often they are paying out on Minnesota games. Ben Fawkes (For The Win – USA Today) is an avid Minnesota sports enthusiast and deeply immersed in the world of sports betting.

Recently, Fawkes tapped into the expertise of a BetMGM college basketball oddsmaker, who expressed his shock at what the Gophers have done to them this season. Despite repeatedly adjusting their odds and expectations for the Gophers, Ben & Co continue to cover.

“There’s always a team like this, but I honestly don’t know what is particularly special about this team,” Seamus Magee, a college basketball trader at BetMGM told For The Win. “They’re a .500 Big Ten team, their offense is Top 40 on KenPom, but they’re not crushing teams on 3-pointers. What’s even more shocking is that they’re 23-3 ATS and one of the worst free-throw shooting teams in the country. That’s usually not a recipe for covering spreads.”

“The Gophers have been playing above their power rating all season,” Thomas Gable, sportsbook director at The Borgata in Atlantic City, told For The Win. “I’ve upgraded them seven points from where I had them to start the season. We have been raising Minnesota throughout the season, they just keep beating the number.”

Ben Fawkes – USAToday

The Gophers’ exceptional performance has left oddsmakers completely astonished, a rare occurrence in the world of sports betting where “Vegas always wins” is often the rule. This season, the Gophers have defied expectations and continually silenced doubters.

5 Vikings That Could Have A Breakout Season https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/5-vikings-breakout-season-2023/ Mon, 10 Jul 2023 14:15:00 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=43037 With the 2023 NFL season just around the corner, many locals are wondering: is sports betting legal in Colorado? Fortunately, the answer is yes. And football season often leads to plenty of action in this state.

Needless to say, most people in Colorado root for the Denver Broncos, the state’s team. But given how disappointing last year’s campaign was, chances are some will be looking forward to switching sides.

If that’s the case, they could turn to a team that made the playoffs last season and won its division: the Minnesota Vikings. Of course, the campaign didn’t end in the way the team expected, but they still fared more than decently in the regular season.

Even so, the Vikings roster has gone through some major changes in the offseason. With that in mind, we’ll dig deep into the roster and talk about the top five players expected to have a breakout campaign in Minnesota.

5 Vikings Breakout Candidates

5. Byron Murphy

With veteran Patrick Peterson no longer in the picture, the much younger Byron Murphy is expected to fill in for his follow former Arizona Cardinal. His numbers don’t exactly pop out — one interception in four seasons is subpar, to say the least — but the physical tools are there.

Murphy is quite efficient when it comes to press-man coverage, and he gives the team enough positional versatility to be granted a lot of snaps and playing time next season. Also, it might be now or never for him.

4. Josh Metellus

Josh Metellus was only able to make a handful of starts last season, subbing in for Harrison Smith. He’s spent most of his time with special teams, but his versatility as a linebacker or a guy who could play everywhere in the secondary is something Brian Flores will simply love.

GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has been quite high on Metellus for a while, and it’s not like Lewis Cine or Camryn Bynum have done enough to widen the gap between them and Metellus as the starting safety.

3. Akayleb Evans

To be honest, Akayleb Evans has already surpassed expectations. He did much better than expected in a somewhat unimpressive CB room, so he’s obviously expected to keep improving in his sophomore season after playing 162 snaps on defense last season.

He logged two passes defended, 23 tackles, and three tackles for a loss despite having his first season cut short due to a couple of concussions. He should have plenty of opportunities to be on the field, as the Vikings’ CB room is still subpar, to say the least.

2. Ty Chandler

Most fantasy football players will rush to pick up Alexander Mattison as the obvious Dalvin Cook replacement. Nonetheless, don’t be surprised if Ty Chandler winds up outplaying him and getting that starting spot at some point in the season.

Chandler will have a complementary role at the very least, but his upside is significantly higher than Mattison’s. He’s a much better fit in passing downs and has much better hands, logging 73 receptions for almost 700 receiving yards in college.

1. K.J. Osborn

The Minnesota Vikings drafted Jordan Addison to be the Robin to Justin Jefferson’s Batman. And while that might be the case at some point, K.J. Osborn is already next in line, and the rookie wideout might need some more time to develop.

Osborn is likely to step up in Adam Thielen’s role. He already exceeded the 600-yard mark in his first two seasons in the league, and he’s had some big games. He’s fast, athletic, and a solid route-runner, and he should have his hands full when defenses double-team Jefferson.

3 activities to keep Minnesota Vikings fans busy until the new season https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/minnesota-vikings/3-activities-to-keep-minnesota-vikings-fans-busy/ Tue, 06 Jun 2023 01:11:00 +0000 https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/?p=42786 There will have been many that would have been left feeling disappointed by what had happened in the postseason last year against the New York Giants, but Minnesota Vikings fans are undoubtedly counting the days until the next game of their favorite team.

The team has undergone several changes, with key players having left and new personnel having come into the organization via the NFL Draft, thus making the upcoming season one that many fans are looking forward to. However, many are looking to fill the time that the offseason brings with ways in which they can keep themselves entertained for as long as possible.

The long wait might feel like forever, but there are tons of activities you can do as a fan to keep your energy for the team going strong. Aside from watching replays and highlights, you can participate in other related events like tours, games, and sports betting.

Take a Stadium Tour

While most Minnesota Vikings fans will have visited the U.S. Bank Stadium on gameday to cheer on the team when they take to the gridiron, they may not have been able to see all that the venue has to offer. During the offseason, a stadium tour can be a great way to access many of the areas that are not seen on a Sunday (or other days when fixtures are played), thus giving fans even more to be excited about when following their team.

Try Sports Betting

With sports betting having started to emerge across the US, sports fans could look to enhance their passion for the team in the offseason by placing bets on their favorite team. With the team back in practice now, they may have identified certain things that may provide them with an opportunity to wager on. Additionally, fans of the team may feel that they can immersive themselves deeper with the team by playing many of the Viking-themed online casino games that are available.

Start Your Fantasy Football Squad

The offseason and the long wait for football to return can be the ideal time for fantasy football fans to sit down and try to create their teams for the upcoming season. Fantasy sports can be a great way to have fun during the offseason as players are able to discuss with other fans what they think could happen, with Vikings fans able to try and form opinions and predictions about what they think might happen. This can help pass the long wait for the upcoming season, while also helping build anticipation and excitement about what could happen the next time the team steps out onto the field.

Offseason Doesn’t Have to be Boring.

While the offseason can be the boring part of the NFL calendar for fans, it does not necessarily have to be so. While we all want to be able to watch football be played more regularly than it is, Minnesota Vikings fans have three great ways to keep themselves busy until the next time they can cheer their team on in the hopes of going to the Super Bowl and winning the Vince Lombardi trophy!
