Means for suspension
Twelve games is a considerable suspension, by NBA standards. But when you look at the charges that Malik plead down, before pleading guilty, you won’t feel bad for him. Scaring that family outside of his house was bad enough, but there are also accusations by Hennepin County that include Malik pointing guns in the direction of his young son and charges of guns being left in dangerous places around his house.
His wife, Montana Yao, took the fall for some of the worst drug charges leveled at the Beasley household. He repaid her by gracing the cover of tabloid magazines across the internet, holding hands with Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife, Larsa. The Minnesota Timberwolves then rewarded Beasley with a new contract this offseason, worth $60 million.
On the basketball floor, Malik Beasley has balled out all season. In doing so, he’s become a frontrunner for the NBA’s “Most Improved Player” award. He’ll be missed since the Wolves have been bad even with the former Florida State guard filling up the box-score.
With both Beasley and Russell still out, I expect heavy usage and (hopefully) growth from Anthony Edwards.
Beasley, 24, is in the midst of a career season, averaging 20.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 40.6 percent from 3-point range. His charges from a September incident have been resolved in court, and now the Timberwolves guard will move forward with NBA discipline issued. https://t.co/CKqyGCDVZ8
