Vikings Radio Announcer to Call Minnesota Wild Games
This morning on his daily KFAN radio show, Minnesota Vikings play-by-play radio broadcaster, Paul Allen, confirmed Michael Russo’s report from Monday night that he is scheduled to call two Minnesota Wild hockey games this season. Allen will step into the Xcel Energy Center radio booth on March 21 and 24 vs Vegas and Vancouver, respectively.

Paul Allen is known for iconic calls like the “Minneapolis Miracle” and unforgettable taglines including “HE’S LOOSE”. The 20-year Vikings broadcaster said the Wild reached out last week and that the Vikings helped in making the opportunity come together.
This is the second attempt at making this happen. He was slated to call a couple of games last season but his appearances were cancelled due to pandemic circumstances. Football isn’t the only sport Paul Allen professionally calls. He’s also the main race announcer at Canterbury Park in Shakopee. We’ll see how PA does in his first couple attempts on the job but I don’t think anybody doubts how good he’d be on hockey calls after enough time on the job.
