The Minnesota Wild started their qualifying round series against the Vancouver Canucks with a 3-0 win. Alex Stalock made sure the entire evening was frustrating for the Canucks with a shutout. The Wild lead the best of 5 qualifying series 1-0.

HOT START

The Wild got the scoring started with a Kevin Fiala goal barely 3 minutes into the first period to take a 1-0 lead.

Jared Spurgeon handled the scoring from there. Spurgeon scored in both the second and third periods to pad the Wild lead.

STALOCK STYMIES CANUCKS

Alex Stalock got the start in net over the other options the Wild have. He blanked the Canucks, recording 28 saves and mostly frustrating Vancouver.

The Wild will take the ice again Tuesday night to try to swing most of the momentum in their favor. And the game starts even later than things did last night, 9:45 is when we’re supposed to tip off!
