Nyquist Expects to Play on Saturday, Kaprizov Later Next Week
The Minnesota Wild play against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night and neither Kirill Kaprizov nor newcomer, Gustav Nyquist will take the ice. But that could change as soon as Saturday when, according to Michael Russo (The Athletic), Nyquist is expected to make his Wild debut.
Nyquist close, Kaprizov will have to wait
We’ll have to wait before we see Kaprizov back in the lineup, however. Russo’s update on him was less optimistic, pushing the superstar’s return date all the way to Tuesday or Thursday of next week, when the Wild will play the final two games of their regular season.
If Gustav Nyqyist handles today’s contact and tomorrow’s well, he’s expected to make his #mnwild debut Saturday vs. #stlblues. Kirill Kaprizov is expected to play one or two of the final games next week. Same lineup tonight except Fleury starts, meaning Goligoski and Addison sit

With or without Nyquist and/or Kaprizov, the Minnesota Wild have to find a way to as many points as possible over their final five games. Currently, they sit in a 3-way tie atop the Central Division with the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars, at 98 points.
The division winner will be awarded with a Wildcard opponent in the first round of the playoffs. The 2nd and 3rd place teams will have to battle each other for the right to go to the 2nd round.
