Teams Showing Interest in Newly-Retired Wild Legend

The Minnesota Wild are rolling right now, as one of the best teams across the entire NHL. The only team seemingly better is their Central Division rival Colorado, after the Avs took them to the cleaners in 5-1 blowout fashion Sunday evening. But let’s look beyond that for a moment.
Minnesota’s epic surge over the past month inspired Bill Guerin to make the Quinn Hughes trade, which made the Wild a legitimate contender. With the trade deadline still over a month away, it’s also possible Bill Guerin may not be done wheeling.
One position he will not be looking for, however, is goalie. Because the Minnesota Wild already roster one of the best netminding duos in hockey, with Filip Gustavsson and rookie first round pick, Jesper Wallstedt.
Retired MN Wild goalie Marc-Andre Fleury drawing interest
Of course, having one really good goalie is a luxury in the NHL, let alone two. And other playoff contenders around the league are getting desperate to find help. So desperate, in fact, that they are trying to convince the GOAT Marc-Andre Fleury to come out of retirement, according to Pierre LeBrun (The Athletic),
Probably not surprising but hearing that some teams have checked in on Marc-Andre Fleury to see if there’s any chance at all he would consider playing again. Again not surprised teams with goalie needs would want to check on it.

After wrapping up his playing career as a 40-year-old, Marc-Andre Fleury transitioned to a front office role with the Minnesota Wild, and seems happy in retirement. Of course, that fire to play never stops… just ask Phillip Rivers.
Last season with the Wild, Fleury played in 26 games, starting 22 of them. His .899 save percentage was a tick above the .895 mark from the year prior, and not far off from his .912 career average.
The three-time Stanley Cup winner, and eventual Hall of Famer, really has nothing left to accomplish in his career. But with a competitor like Flower, a return is probably just the right offer away, so we’ll see.
