First, I’d like to thank the Minnesota Wild for giving me something to do today

Our favorite hockey team and their backup goalie, Alex Stalock, have agreed to an extension worth 3 years and $2.355 Million that was announced today.

While Stalock hasn’t been all that impressive when called upon, as pointed out a few weeks ago by Giles Ferrell of Zone Coverage, it looks like he’s done enough to impress the Wild brass… and not even costing $800K per year helps ease concerns too…

That’s not all this extension does, though. And, while it doesn’t seem like anybody representing the Wild has confirmed this, his 3-year extension does line him up to be exposed in the expansion draft that is coming in 2-years for the new Seattle franchise. That will be something to watch for as time marches on.
