There was a time that Minnesota was home to one of the most electric teams in the NHL. Unfortunately that team ultimately moved to Dallas and kept the moniker as well.

While the North Stars ceased to exist in Minnesota after the 1993 season, the Minnesota Wild didn’t come about right away. Born in 2000, this year marks a quarter-century of existence. That’s obviously a substantial milestone, and one that the franchise will lean into.

Anniversary games on tap for MN Wild

The vast majority of roster decisions have already been made for the upcoming season. Marco Rossi’s new contract was among the latest and most significant. It remains to be seen how much Kirill Kaprizov will play for, but he’ll be on the team as well.

John Hynes will coach the group through an 82-game regular season. Four of those are being dubbed as Anniversary Games.

The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild today announced the organization will commemorate the team’s 25th season with four special 25th anniversary games. These special 25th anniversary games will include alumni appearances, all-arena fan giveaways, limited-edition bobblehead ticket packages, in-arena activations and more.

There is one anniversary game per month from October through January. The dates, opponents, and start times are as follows:

DateOpponentTime
October 28Winnipeg Jets7pm
November 4Nashville Predators7pm
December 21Colorado Avalanche5pm
January 24Florida Panthers8pm

As mentioned, there are bobbleheads available for each of the contests. They do require specific ticket packages. The bobblehead subjects, in order of game date, are Marian Gaborik, Mikko Koivu, Jared Spurgeon, and Kirill Kaprizov.

The newly unveiled 25th anniversary logo will seemingly be present on team sweaters. The team is still set to unveil a third uniform option. There has not yet been a date set.

Of note, the Wild suggested tickets can be purchased from the Xcel Energy Center Box Office. We are in the waning days of that being the given name to the venue. Grand Casino purchased the naming rights earlier this summer.
