The Minnesota Vikings just agreed to terms with Offensive Lineman Josh Kline who was recently released by the Tennessee Titans. Kline struggled last year with an undisclosed injury that took place in Week 7 against the Chargers. He didn’t end up missing any games but did miss some practice time. He ended up being the 50th ranked guard via PFF last season with a 58.0 Grade in 2018.

Before signing with Tennessee in 2016, Kline spent 3 seasons with the Patriots where he started 18 games. Kline has appeared in 79 games allowing just 10.5 sacks total. In 2018, Kline allowed 3 sacks, but with that undisclosed injury it’s really tough to gauge how he would have actually performed if fully healthy.

In 2017, Kline started all 16 games for Tennessee and allowed just 1 sack. To put it more into perspective, Remmers and Compton each allowed 6 sacks last season for the Vikings… so it is clear that Kline could end up being a considerable upgrade if he stays healthy. With new OL Coach Rick Dennison in the building I would think he had a hand in choosing this guy to fit his scheme, and hopefully knows he can maximize Kline’s potential on the field.
