Vikings Sign Former Packers Cornerback, Chandon Sullivan

The Minnesota Vikings have made another move, as Kwesi Adofo-Mensah tries to shape the 2022 roster in the new regime’s image. And for the second-straight time, a former Green Bay Packer is jumping the border. On Friday afternoon, it’s 25-year-old slot cornerback, Chandon Sullivan, a 2018 undrafted free agent out of Georgia State.

Sullivan is a nickel (slot) cornerback who began his NFL career in Philly but has been in green and gold since 2019. Mike Pettine and Ed Donatell have a clear affinity for former Packers like themselves.

According to Pro Football Focus, Sullivan has been on the decline since a promising debut season in Green Bay. He got on the field for just 350 snaps in 2019 but posted a solid 73.1 PFF grade. When the Packers made him a regular in their defense, he faltered. Sullivan was on the field for 729 snaps in 2020 and his PFF grade dropped to 62.2. In 2021, snaps went up again, this time north of 830. His PFF grade then fell even further, down to 55.0.

But don’t let PFF grades get you too far down on the newest addition to the Minnesota Vikings defense. Nick Olson (ZoneCoverage.com) went back and watched some film on Chandon Sullivan’s 2021 season and found plenty of things that he likes in the young corner.
