Vikings Unveil Beautiful Throwback Uniforms from 1960’s
On Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings released their latest alternate uniform combination with a throwback to the 1960’s. An updated version of the old purple t-shirt-like jerseys that had sleeves down or well past players’ elbows.
Pants have the classic purple and gold stripe. Helmets are basic matte purple with a glossy-type finish and an early version of the Vikings’ iconic white horn and yellow crescent base.

The Vikings’ best alternate uniforms have always been of the throwback variety. Keep your color rush and nobody really wants a black uniform even, if they think they do. Just give us the nostalgia of the past, specifically pre-2006, because we all want to forget about the tragedy uniforms from ’06-’12 (most of the AP era).
Vikings will wear throwback uniforms in week 1
But these beauties are about perfect (could’ve gone straight gloss helmets if I’m getting picky). A+. 5 stars. And we won’t have to wait to see them in action. The Minnesota Vikings will wear the new throwbacks in week 1 vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who will wear their iconic creamsicle colored uniforms from the 1980’s and 90’s.

Paying homage to the 60s and 70s.
