Minneapolis R&B/Hip-hop artist “Lizzo” has been gaining more and more fame by the day, putting out hit after hit like El Chapo. One of her more famous songs, “Truth hurts“, contains the lyrics “new man on the Minnesota Vikings” (about the 50-second mark). Well, one radio station in Wisconsin has edited those lyrics out so their sensitive Wisconsin ears don’t have to hear such cuss words as “Minnesota Vikings”…

When I first heard this story, I honest to god, thought it was a joke. When I found out it wasn’t, well.. I’m still laughing while I type this shit…

That my friends, is a new level of petty. Do you think Lizzo cares? Hell no, you’re still playing her song. The radio station (101 WIXX) even reached out to Lizzo’s record label to justify their pettiness. Here’s how it went down, according to the Green Bay Press Gazette:

GREEN BAY – If only it were that easy.

WIXX-FM has made the Minnesota Vikings disappear — for about 3 minutes anyway.

The Green Bay radio station liked what it heard from the Lizzo song “Truth Hurts” … until it got to the chorus: “Fresh photos with the bomb lighting/New man on the Minnesota Vikings.”

When you’re the home of Packers Radio Network game-day broadcasts, that’s not going to fly, so WIXX made the decision to edit out all the Vikings references, not unlike it has done in the past for songs with profanity. In Green Bay, you can make the argument “Vikings” is just another dirty word.

Wait, it gets better… they tried to throw us under the petty bandwagon…

“I really think if the reverse was true, Minneapolis would be doing the same thing,” Day said. Would KDWB-FM play a song that mentions the Packers five times in a single song? Probably not, he said.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say, probably not to your “probably not”… Plus, we don’t have to worry about Wisconsin producing much of anything in the near future besides cheese and drunks like they always have.

Packer fans know deep down, that Rodgers is at the end of his career and they will be setting up shop in the bottom of the division for years to come. They will all need a safe space, when that day becomes a true reality. Editing the radio waves won’t help them then. So hold on tight to your spotted cow, and pray to Jesus, because you aren’t drafting another Erin and good luck pulling off that Brett Favre trade in today’s NFL. Hopefully, you have an arm and a leg available.

Too bad the good nice clean…. people… cheeseheads of Wisconsin won’t be able to radio edit Griffen, Barr, or Hunter out of the Packer backfield.
