Insider Urges MN Vikings to Trade Up for Insane Draft Talent

Kyler Murray becoming the Minnesota Vikings next starting quarterback seems more and more likely with every hour that passes this week. Of course, they can’t do anything until the Arizona Cardinals release him, at which time he is expected to sign somewhere (probably MN) for $1.3 million.
Minnesota Vikings is Kyler Murray’s best fit
With Murray under center, the Vikings offense — on paper — would have one of the highest ceilings in the league, which is why a lot of experts around the league, including Daniel Jeremiah (NFL Network), are jumping all in on getting Kyler Murray to Minnesota.
“Kyler Murray is the most intriguing, by far, of the quarterbacks that are available. Three reasons, cheap, he’s going to cost you $1.3 million. I mean, that’s ridiculous. Talented and motivated, so he checks those three boxes. That’s a great place to start from. Now Minnesota is the one that makes the most sense for me.”

The Vikings are enticing to Murray for the same reason they were to Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones in past seasons, and the same reason they are the No. 1 landing spot for quarterbacks trying to find a new home this year too.
Not only do they roster Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, but arguably the most QB-friendly collection of coaches in the NFL, as well. Kevin O’Connell is one of the brightest young offensive minds in football.
He, along with OC Wes Phillips and QB coach Josh McCown, if you can’t make it in Minnesota, then you can’t make it in the NFL. And that’s the thing about Kyler. He’s already made it in the league.
Injuries combined with a rough 2025 doomed him as a Cardinal. But as recently as 2024, when Murray started all 17 games in Arizona the former No. 1 overall draft pick completed 68.8% of his passes for 3,851 yards and 21 touchdowns.

While injury held Murray to just five games last season, it also ensures he’s virtually 100% healthy when joining a new team. There is never an opportunity to get this sort of talent on the open market for so little money, but that’s where the Minnesota Vikings find themselves.
Jeremiyah Love trade would set MN Vikings offense ablaze
Beyond just Murray though, Jeremiah has even bigger offseason plans for the Minnesota Vikings, who have a major need at running back, too.
After the Minnesota Vikings missed out on Trevor Etienne, the NFL Draft insider is imploring Rob Brzezinski to make a bold deal on draft night, and trade up for franchise-changing RB talent, Jeremiyah Love (Notre Dame).

“This is the scenario I want to pose to you guys. I was looking at this as it relates to the draft. What if you’re a Minnesota Vikings fan and you look up next year and you’ve got Kyler Murray at quarterback, you’ve got Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, and you’re all sitting there with pick number 18.
You look at the way this draft is shaking out and you look at a team like Washington, picking 7th. Washington, at that point in time, they do not have a second round pick, they do not have a fourth round pick, they only have six picks overall. I think there’s a way Minnesota could get from 18 to 7 without even parting with next year’s one. They have two threes this year, could be a second round pick next year. If I told you next year the Minnesota Vikings have Kyler Murray at quarterback, Jeremiyah Love at running back, Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson, would you sign up to watch that offense?”

Finishing third in Heisman voting, Jeremiyah Love was the unquestioned best running back in college football last season. He looks like one of the best prospects to come out in quite some time, and is more than worthy of an early first round pick.
After running for 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns as a sophomore, Love backed it up with 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. He also proved capable in the passing game, turning 27 receptions into 280 yards and three touchdowns.

Dynamic and instant accelerator. Easy speed to circle the defense. Utilizes subtle cuts to set up blocks. Excellent short area instincts to make defenders miss. His explosive runs end with TDs. pic.twitter.com/TjI7oTtiDc
There was question coming into the offseason how high Love would go. Running backs rarely get premium draft positioning, but he was the one worthy of it. Now projected to easily land within the top 10, the seventh pick could be high enough to land him.
If the MN Vikings were to pull this off, they’d pair Love with Jordan Mason and have a dynamic one-two punch. If drafted seventh, the franchise would love to see him follow a career arc similar to that of the last running back they took with that pick. Adrian Peterson is, of course, destined for the Hall of Fame.
