The Minnesota Vikings took the Green Bay Packers to the woodshed during the first half of Sunday’s victory. Sure, they nearly gave it away during the second half. That didn’t stop Justin Jefferson from finding the end zone. He made sure to let the entire state of Wisconsin feel it too.

Justin Jefferson’s Griddy hit different in Green Bay

Sam Darnold got a boost on Sunday when Jordan Addison was brought back into the starting lineup. After missing two weeks with an ankle injury, the talented second-year wide receiver made an instant impact. So too did Justin Jefferson. The superstar wideout took advantage of Jaire Alexander’s absence, and then he made it personal.

Jefferson is probably correct in suggesting that Alexander cares more about the matchup than he does. After all, the Vikings wide receiver is the best in the league. Alexander looks at each opportunity as his time to shine.

When Jefferson found the end zone on Sunday, he made sure to enjoy the points just a little bit longer. The Vikings aren’t done with the Packers yet this year, so Alexander will get a chance to put his money where his mouth is. So far, it’s been a whole lot of talking, and no checks cashed.

By the time the two teams square off at U.S. Bank Stadium later this season, they could be in much different places. For now, The Minnesota Vikings look like Kevin O’Connell is going to lead them to the postseason.

Minnesota heads overseas this weekend for a matchup against the New York Jets in London. It would be some sort of poetic justice to best Aaron Rodgers right after beating his former team.
