This weekend, the Minnesota Gophers were hoping to have their first quarterback drafted to the NFL since 1972 (Craig Curry – Dolphins). Unfortunately, whether it was the hometown Minnesota Vikings or the 31 other teams in the league, nobody was willing to spend a draft pick to land Max Brosmer, who proved himself to be one of the best QBs in Golden Gopher history last season.

But it only took a minute or two, once the NFL Draft came to an end on Saturday, for Brosmer to sign as an undrafted free agent. Better yet, he isn’t going anywhere. Instead, Max Brosmer is staying in Minnesota and signing with the Vikings, who gave him $250,000 guaranteed.

Brosmer’s 2024 season at Minnesota — 66.5% CMP | 2,828 YDS | 18 TD | 6 INT — is a one of the top 5 in Gopher QB history. After a great season, Brosmer impressed at the East-West Shrine Bowl, widely considered the second-best All-Star bowl game for draft-eligible college football players.

His impressive week came after he originally accepting an invite to the lower-tiered Hula Bowl. After that, he earned an invite to the NFL Combine, before showing off his leadership and arm talent at the Minnesota Gophers Pro Day. Now, he’s on his way to TCO Performance Center to join the Minnesota Vikings.
