Former Vikings Bust Back in Action

Minnesota Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah will never be given any awards for his draft ability. Unquestionably his most notable miss was taking Lewis Cine in the first round, and passing on Kyle Hamilton to do so.
Not every notable bust has been the byproduct of an Adofo-Mensah draft. Of course, he hasn’t been around long enough for that to be true. Former general manager Rick Spielman took Laquon Treadwell 23rd overall in 2016.
Somehow has lasted a decade in the league, and he’ll be on an active roster again Sunday.
Laquon Treadwell now a Daniel Jones target for Colts
Last season Laquon Treadwell signed with the Indianapolis Colts and got into just two games. He logged 19 snaps, all of which occurred on special teams. This season he has played 12 special teams snaps in one game. He’ll be active again on Sunday.
we have activated CB Jaylon Jones from IR and signed CB Cameron Mitchell to 53-man roster from practice squad.

we have elevated DE Durell Nchami and WR Laquon Treadwell to active roster from practice squad.
we have waived LB Chad Muma and S Trey Washington.…
Treadwell has effectively saved his career by becoming a special teams contributor. He last caught a pass in 2023 playing for the Ravens, and he hasn’t found the end zone since 2021 with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In four seasons with the Vikings, Treadwell played just 53 games and got only 16 starts. The former Mississippi product had only 65 receptions for 701 yards and two touchdowns. As a rookie in 2023, Jordan Addison started 14 of 17 games played, had 911 yards, and scored 10 times.
It remains interesting each time Treadwell’s name pops up in that his career continues despite and overall lack of production. If he gets offensive snaps for the Colts this weekend against Pittsburgh, he’ll catch passes from one-time Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daniel Jones.
After leaving the Vikings this offseason, Jones has the Colts owning the best record in the league at 7-1. He has completed 71.2% of his passes for 2,062 yards and 13 touchdowns. At this point, Jones looks like a legitimate MVP candidate.
Minnesota is on the road against the Detroit Lions Sunday. They are nearly double-digit underdogs and need to pull off a win.
