Justin Jefferson Headlines Host of Newly Ranked Top 100 MN Vikings

Each year the NFL puts together a top 100 list heading into the upcoming season. Of course with the Minnesota Vikings having a roster ready to win now, they have plenty of top talent across the league.
When you are Justin Jefferson, member of the coveted Madden 99 Club, the only question is how high you’ll be ranked. Not surprisingly, he checks in as the Vikings lead member of the top 100.
Kevin O’Connell needs his team to ball out this year if they are going to succeed at a high level after a 14-win season. It starts with his top talents.
Top ten calling for Justin Jefferson on NFL Top 100
Arguably the best wide receiver in football, Justin Jefferson plays a premium position and has put up five seasons of top tier production. Fresh off his second First Team All-Pro selection, he checked in as the ninth best player in the sport.

It’s a good thing that there weren’t more than one wide receiver ranking about Jefferson. Ja’Marr Chase continues to be the one player who garners the consideration, and it will seemingly take Jefferson reminding everyone of his abilities this season to change that line of thinking.
Jefferson has played a season more than Chase, but his 40 touchdowns check in seven shy of the Bengals wideout. While Jefferson has dealt with a significant hamstring injury and shaky quarterback play, Chase continues to get quality attempts from Joe Burrow.

Even after leading the league with a 100.5 yards per game average last season, Chase still is behind Jefferson’s NFL record 96.5 yards per game over the course of his career.

These two will square off head-to-head at U.S. Bank Stadium on September 21. That would be a great time for Jefferson to show Chase who’s boss.
What other Minnesota Vikings made the top 100?
Of course Minnesota put Jefferson in the top 10. Anything short of that would have been a snub. They landed multiple other players on the list as well, and there are some risers to key in on this season.
Ranking | Player | Position |
---|---|---|
48th | Jonathan Greenard | Edge Rusher |
88th | Andrew Van Ginkel | Edge Rusher |
98th | Aaron Jones | Running Back |
It’s great that the Minnesota Vikings didn’t get snubbed behind Justin Jefferson. It’s comical to think there are 40 spots between Van Ginkel and Greenard, or that there weren’t other players worth of serious consideration.
Christian Darrisaw and Brian O’Neill would both love a word on the offensive line. It’s probably due to injuries that neither Jonathan Allen or Javon Hargrave earned consideration on the defensive side of the ball.
Byron Murphy Jr. picked off six passes last season and earned a shiny new deal. I guess he’ll need to lead an otherwise thin room this year to generate more notoriety.

Of course no team is going to land a majority of their starters on a like 32 teams deep. The Vikings beat odds by getting four players worthy of consideration. They’ll need the front seven, and a few different position groups, to step up more this season.
A deep playoff run will only add fuel to the fire for the excitement that comes with each individual player.
