Vikings Rival Coach on Hot Seat?

It has been an up and down season for the Minnesota Vikings this year. Now 4-5 with just a 1-3 record at home after Sunday’s unfortunate loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Kevin O’Connell hasn’t consistently coached at his best.
He’s hardly under the microscope to the level that recently fired Brian Daboll was. That doesn’t mean he can allow the final eight games to be wasted by J.J. McCarthy. It would be a shock if any level of disappointing results cost him his job though.
That doesn’t mean everyone in the NFC North has that same level of certainty being afforded to them. Dan Campbell has been great while Ben Johnson is new. That leaves the Green Bay Packers Matt LaFleur.
Matt LaFleur fielding questions about Packers coaching status
The Green Bay Packers came into the season with expectations of a division title. Right now they are 5-3-1 which is just one game better than the Vikings in the win column. On Monday Night Football Matt LaFleur’s team scored just a single touchdown in a loss against the Philadelphia Eagles and his job status came up postgame.
Asked Matt LaFleur if he thinks he's coaching for his job now:

"I'll leave that for everybody else to decide. I'll just focus on the day-to-day and try to do — I feel like you're always coaching for everything in this league, you know? That's just my mindset. It's always been…
LaFleur isn’t wrong in that there’s always someone coming for your job. There are only 32 head coaching positions in the NFL, and someone would immediately come to take over even the worst team if it was offered to them. What the question does raise is a real concern as to how well he’s doing at it.
The Packers paid Jordan Love a boatload of money and are expecting him to be the leader of their offense. His 68.9% accuracy this season is a career-high, and he’s generated a 13/3 TD/INT rate as well. The look is that of a more pedestrian quarterback than anything though, and LaFleur’s overall offensive scheme isn’t getting it done.
Green Bay is middle of the pack when it comes to points per game, and if the defense wasn’t acting as one of the league’s better units, things would be even further off. Kevin O’Connell isn’t going anywhere this season, and it seems shocking to think Matt LaFleur would either. With the questions being asked this early though, it definitely isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
The Minnesota Vikings head to Green Bay next weekend after a home date with the Chicago Bears.
