Dalvin Cook Strongly Denies Assault Allegations Filed in Lawsuit by Former Girlfriend

Earlier Tuesday, civil charges were filed against Minnesota Vikings running back, Dalvin Cook, for an alleged assault against a female, Gracelyn Trimble, who he once had an intimate relationship with. The story was first broken by the Star Tribune and the incident in question dates back to November 2020. Trimble alleges that Cook attacked her with a broom, causing a concussion and a cut/scar on her face.
According to the lawsuit (via ESPN), Trimble (who’s a Sergeant First Class in the US Army) was forced to use Mace on Cook, before grabbing his gun. While she was then calling for help, she alleges Cook came at her with a broomstick and caused the head injuries.
Cook’s side of the story
Dalvin Cook doesn’t deny striking Trimble and doesn’t deny he was there for the incident in question. But he came out in a very strong manner soon after the story went public, when he and his agent released a statement on their version of what happened that November evening.

The two accounts from Cook and Trimble both include a lot of the same tools and actions. But, how and why those tools were used is where the two stories turn very different.
Dalvin Cook claims Gracelyn Trimble was the aggressor in question and that she broke into his house (by stolen garage door opener). He claims she Maced him and his friends multiple times.
In his statement, Cook also accuses Trimble of holding him and his group hostage at gunpoint for hours and that she’s been using the incident in an attempt to extort him for months.
Receipts?
Right after Dalvin released his statement via Adam Schefter on Twitter, Rochelle Olson (Star Tribune) tweeted out a screen shot of alleged direct messages between Cook and Trimble AFTER the incident occurred. They were attached to the lawsuit filed. I’ve also included Rochelle’s tweet of other photos Trimble included in the lawsuit filed.

I don’t know if there’s enough in these messages to find Cook guilty of the assault Trimble alleges. But, they certainly don’t shine him or his story in a very good light.
We’ll wait for anything else and keep you updated.
