We are quickly closing in on the Minnesota Vikings Week 7 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles. There is still a level of ambiguity when it comes to the starting lineup, but the tea leaves have been revealed at quarterback.

J.J. McCarthy continues to remain a limited participant and a revenge game for Carson Wentz looks like it’s on tap. Kevin O’Connell also has multiple members of his team trending in the right direction even if left tackle Christian Darrisaw didn’t practice on Thursday.

Christian Darrisaw resting for the Minnesota Vikings

Maybe the biggest news from the Minnesota Vikings Thursday practice is that J.J. McCarthy remains limited. Carson Wentz should be expected to start against his former team on Sunday. Christian Darrisaw is likely going to play, but he was sidelined for practice.

Darrisaw missed the first two games for the Vikings this season as he comes back from season-ending knee surgery last year. He has been a pivotal part of the offensive line, but continues to ramp up for the remainder of the season.

With that in mind, he’s going to get rest days as the season builds on, and one of those came on Thursday. After no injury notation or designation on Monday, Darrisaw was held out to recoup on Thursday. The expectation should be that he is either a full or limited participant on Friday as the team turns its focus towards the weekend.

The Vikings offensive line is obviously in a better place with Darrisaw working as their bookend. It remains to be seen how they will handle the center position moving forward. Both Blake Brandel and Michael Jurgens are healthy now.

It would be a significant positive if Andrew Van Ginkel could go from limited to full by the end of the week, but that remains to be seen. Wentz getting in another full session suggests he’s more than ready to go. Blake Cashman is expected to join him as well.
