After an offseason used to spend in the trenches, the Minnesota Vikings were not happy with the results their offensive line produced in 2025. Eventually, that led to the dismissal of general manager Kwesi Adofo Mensah.

But before he was shown the door, the Vikings let their o-line coach Chris Kuper walk out first, allowing him to coach into the final season of his contract, and eventually walk free.

Chris Kuper lands with Eagles after Minnesota Vikings departure

Given his reputation around the league, nobody expected Kuper to be on the market for long. But on Monday, he landed a job with the Philadelphia Eagles — an opportunity that the entire football would consider an upgrade from Minnesota, when it comes to offensive line play.

It’s no surprise the Vikings decided to look for a different voice to lead the OL room, after so much was invested there last offseason, and it flopped. Poor o-line play is nothing new in Minnesota, however.

The Vikings have ranked near the bottom of the league in most o-line categories since Adrian Peterson left town. Meanwhile, Kuper lands with an Eagles team that, prior to 2025, had ranked top 10 in rush yards every season since and including 2020.

A fifth round pick by the Broncos, Kuper spent eight of his NFL playing seasons in Denver, where he suited up for 90 total games, 79 of which came as a starter.

Since retiring, he has worked with three different teams (Dolphins, Broncos, Vikings), prior to being hired by the Eagles. Minnesota won’t see Philly this season unless the two NFC teams meet up in the playoffs.
