It’s week 15 and, on Sunday night, the 5-8 Minnesota Vikings will look to win back-to-back games for the first time all season, after a convincing 31-0 shutout victory in week 14 against the Washington Commanders.

Of course, to make that happen, the Vikings will have to go on the road and defeat the much more formidable Dallas Cowboys, who come in with a 6-6-1 record, and seemingly desperate to keep their 2025-26 playoff dreams alive.

CeeDee Lamb clears concussion protocol

The Cowboys haven’t played since last Thursday night, meaning they’re essentially coming off a mini-bye. They needed it too, after their offense looked semi disastrous for much of that week 14 matchup against the Detroit Lions.

Beyond the additional rest and time to fix everything that went wrong 1.5 weeks ago, Dallas got even more good news during their longer-than-usual week. On Friday, superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was cleared out of concussion protocol, and reportedly will play against the MN Vikings.

Lamb missed three weeks earlier this season with a high ankle sprain he suffered week 3 against the Chicago Bears, but the concussion he suffered last Thursday against the Lions won’t cost him any game time, in part thanks to the extra rest between.

The 26-year-old Lamb has racked up 865 yards and three touchdowns for the Dallas Cowboys this season, opposite new teammate George Pickens. It’s one of the more dangerous duos in the league. And when Dak Prescott is clicking on all cylinders, the Dallas Cowboys offense is nearly impossible to stop.

Minnesota Vikings defense must be even better vs Cowboys

The Minnesota Vikings held Jayden Daniels in check last weekend, in his return to play, off of a shoulder injury that he re-injured during the contest on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. It was clear from his first snap that Daniels wasn’t anywhere close to 100%.

This weekend, against Dallas, the MN Vikings defense will need to be even better, if they are going to stifle a veteran like Dak, who’s coming off of a rare 2 INT, 1 TD performance.

On paper, the Cowboys have a heck of a lot more to play for on Sunday night, than the Vikings., who have all but turned the page to 2026, with the playoffs all but mathematically out of reach. Nonetheless, the NFL is a weird place… and you never know what you’ll actually get on “any given Sunday.”
