Case Keenum Joins ELITE Club of Vikings by Winning NFC Offensive Player of the Month

On Thursday, Case Keenum, was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month. Minnesota’s starting QB lead the Vikings to a 3-0 record in November. During those wins, Keenum completed 71.1% of his passes and averaged just under 289 passing yards per game. He is the first Vikes quarterback to receive this award since Brett Favre in 2009.

Does everyone remember the vibe leading up to the Bucs game in week 3? Mike Zimmer’s team had just gotten their asses kicked by the Steelers. Sam Bradford was on his way to see Dr. James Andrews. Many people didn’t think Teddy Bridgewater would dress all season. #SkolNation was down in the dumps. The “at least Case Keenum is 2-0 in his career vs. the Bucs” was sarcastically spewed by fans throughout the state.

Now look at our boy! Not even Nostradamus could have predicted this shit. Keenum is still undefeated vs. Tampa Bay. Keenum has solidified himself as the starting QB. Keenum has Minnesota on a 7 game winning streak. Case Keenum and his aggressively sized testicles are the proud owners of the NFC Player of the Month! What a time to be alive!

Case Keenum and the Vikings November:

November 12th: Minnesota 38 @ Washington 30

  • Keenum: 21/29 passing. 304 yards. 4 TDs, 2 INTs.

November 19th: Minnesota 24 vs. L.A. Rams 7

  • Keenum: 27/38 passing. 280 yards. 1 TD. 0 INT.

November 23rd: Minnesota 30 @ Detroit 23

  • Keenum: 21/30 passing. 282 yards. 3 TD (1 Rush). 0 INT.

Seeing the undrafted gunslinger getting National recognition does the heart well. The NFL isn’t a Millennial Track and Field Day. Not everyone gets awards. It took elite play for Case to accomplish this feat. I mean, just look at the short-list of Vikings to receive this honor:

  • Warren Moon, Jake Reed, Randall Cunningham, Cris Carter, Robert Smith, Daunte Culpepper (2x), Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson (2x), Case Keenum

Quick side note: How did Moss never win one? What the hell?

The Vikings have a HUGE game in Atlanta on Sunday. The defending NFC Champions seem to have finally figured things out on offense. All Pro WR, Julio Jones, is coming off of a 12 reception, 253 yard, and 2 TD performance.

Look at this poor DB trying to cover Julio last week:

The Falcons currently sit at 6-4 and are on a three game winning streak. Let’s hope that streak ends Sunday. 10-2 sounds real nice. This award is great too, but getting one step closer to the playoff bye is much more important.
