Bears, Vikings Fans Unite in Anti-Packers Chants Leaving Soldier Field
Monday night’s football game between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears was difficult to watch on both sides. The Vikings won and kept their playoff hopes alive but posted just 17 points and less than 200 yards of total offense (Cousins threw for 87 yards).
Chicago mustered 9 points, six of which came on a last-second heave, but went for nearly double the yards on offense (370) and had way more opportunities in the red zone. But Fields & Co turned the ball over three times and made huge mistakes in the worst-possible situations, costing the Bears any chance they might have had at victory.
There wasn’t a fan leaving Soldier Field last night, for either team, who felt confident about their squad going forward. So instead of fighting each other on their way out of the stadium, opposing cheering sections united in their hatred for a common enemy. The Green Bay Packers.

Awesome or Sad?
Is it sad and a bit depressing that Vikings and Bears fans have to stoop this low? Yes, chanting about a common rival who’s already clinched the North Division (and didn’t even participate in the night’s contest) is nothing to brag about. But there wasn’t much else to cheer about leaving Soldier Field, especially for Bears fans who made up the majority of the crowd
And if you’re a Chicago Bears fan then this sort of thing isn’t that out of the ordinary. Apparently, anti-Packers chants can bust out at any time in the Windy City. Sports are fun.
