Wow… I don’t know what else to say right now. What do I do with my hands?
I’m still waiting to wake up or for Ashton Kutcher to jump out of the bushes to tell me I’ve been punk’d. The Minnesota Twins are actually pulling out the checkbook and signing Josh Donaldson. I’ll keep my feelings about what this means for the pitcher I’ve been longing for, until tomorrow. Now isn’t the time. We need to be celebrating. We can worry about negative consequences another time.
After just inking Miguel Sano to a bargain deal, it looks like he will now be flipped to 1st base so Josh Donaldson can play the hot corner. The Twins improve immensly on defense with this move. Not only is Donaldson a great hitter, but he has a great glove as well. This likely spells the end of Sano’s career at 3rd base, which means a focus on 1st base should improve him defensively, at that corner too.
We don’t really need to get into what this does for a lineup that already broke the MLB homerun record last season…
