Sam Dyson Just Hit the Injured List So Let’s Argue Pocket Protectors

Well, it looks like we won’t have to worry about Sam Dyson giving up more runs and starting Twins Twitter on fire anytime in the very near future. And we all love ourselves some Devin Smeltzer!

They said “don’t worry Twins fans!”

We didn’t need to get another top starter for a playoff run. Sam Dyson was a huge upgrade at the back of the pen and we got the greatest human in the MLB, who might also be unhittable, in Sergio Romo. Well, Sergio has been everything and more than advertised. Dyson on the other hand…

I’m actually hearing people use Dyson’s bad start to prove we should always hold onto our prospects instead of dealing for help at the deadline. What a joke. This Dyson situation proves AGAIN why mid-level trades are the most dangerous. Sam Dyson is a good relief pitcher… but he isn’t elite. AND, he isn’t a dominant starter. When you give up mid-level prospects, you get mid-level MLB players. It costs a lot to get a lot. And the Twins never make that move. Ever. And, this is what happens.

And for the professional writers on Twitter who are CONSTANTLY bitching about fans and other personalities who use terms like “Pohland Pocket Protector” to convey their frustration with the Twins refusal to make a big leap for a big star… just STFU.

They’re right. The Twins don’t spend big money. FOR WHATEVER REASON, they don’t do it. People continue to argue about WHY the Twins don’t spend money. I personally don’t think it’s because the Pohlads are cheap. At least, not anymore. But, who the fuck cares why. The FACT is that they don’t. There’s nothing to aruge with that statement. They have not invested big money or good prospects when a big return was on the line. THAT IS A FACT. And that’s the real reason why people are frustrated.
